Roy Brooks, age 48, was born on January 30, 1964 in Jefferson, TN and died on September 6, 2012 at his home in Crossville, TN. He spent his work life as a miner in the rock quarries but his love was hanging out with his sons and taking care of them. He was an avid Nascar fan and he enjoyed sports with his passion being football.
He is survived by his wife- Janie Brooks; sons- Austin Dale Brooks and Rachel Betts and Dustin Hunter Brooks and Brooke Eddington; special parents- Gene and Jackie Hall; grandchildren- Skylar Mae Corum-Brooks and Ryan Dale Brooks; brother- Joe Earl Brooks; sisters- Deborah Kay Scarborough and Angela Ruth Portillo; father and step-mother- Raymond and Joyce Brooks; numerous nieces and nephews; mother-in-law- Connie Estep; father and mother-in-law- Gene and Tina Sims; and special “sista”- Julie Vaden.
He is preceded in death by his mother- Mary Ruth French; brother- David Leon Brooks; sister-in-law- Paula K
ay Brooks; and father-in-law- Bill Estep.
His family will be receiving friends at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. on Sunday, September 9, 2012 from 5 to 7 with a funeral service to follow at 7 with Bro. Ralph Reagan and Bro. David Richards officiating.
No words can erase the pain of the loss of your husband, father, family member, and friend. Knowing Roy is with God and pain free and now an angel watching over you is some comfort. I loved Roy and he was such a loving, caring friend. We love you Janie and boys. I hope that all of our great memories and fun times will help you through your days ahead.
