Robert “Bob” Cunningham, 71 of Crossville, passed away peacefully at
home September 1, 2012 after an illness. The family received friends at
home on Saturday, Sept. 1. Cremation will be held at Crossville Memorial.
Bob was born Dec. 5, 1940 in Jamaica, New York, son of Margaret Gubas
Cunningham and Robert J. Cunningham. Bob served in the U.S. Air Force
nearly 5 years, then a career at New York Bell, Southern Bell in West Palm
Beach and FortLauderdale,Florida, and Bell South in Birmingham,
Alabama spanning 40 years.
Bob was a loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Beth
Cunningham, his sister Diane Cunningham of Cleveland, TN, son and
daughter-in-law Nick and Linda LeGault, grandsons, Lukas and Noah
LeGault, son and daughter-in-law Ra and Kelly Lovingsworth of TN. He
was preceded in death by both parents.
Bob had a great mind for mechanics and electronics and had the nickname
of Mr. Wizard; yet, he first had a love of people and he was loved likewise
in return and he enjoyed making his friends laugh and have fun.
Bob volunteered and worked with Habitat for Humanity a few years and
currently Bob was a member of the local BPOE, Elk’s Lodge #2751 in
Crossville. He volunteered as an officer and served on several committees.
Bob was a self starter and brought many new ideas to improve the Lodge.
His favorite areas were the Angel Tree and the Veteran’s committee. Bob
also enjoyed working with Mark Daniels our local veteran’s officer.
