John Franklin Johnson

John Johnson, 83, was born on March 29, 1941 to Thomas and Reva Johnson in Whitesville, WV. He passed away on June 23, 2024 at his home in Crossville, TN.

John spent many years as a Labor Organizer for US Steel and as a General Laborer for the Rubber Plant. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, tinkering in the garage, gardening, mowing hay, and farming.

He is survived by his wife Christine Johnson; daughter Jamie Johnson James (Darrell); grandchildren John Johnson (Amanda), Shea Thomas James, and Andrea James Whitcomb (James); great grandchildren John Johnson (Taylor), Eli Tucker Johnson, and Dalton Vickery; great great grandbaby on the way “Buttercup”; and a special nephew William Threet (Carol).

John was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Franklin and Reva (Edmonds) Johnson; and his brother Jerry Johnson.

The Graveside service will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024 in New Era Cemetery at 2:00pm, Pastor George Willis officiating.
