Betty Lois Hodgins Miller, age 94, was born to Eugene and Elise Turner Hodgins on December 3, 1929 in Crossville, TN and passed away in her home on June 23, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was a member of Bakers Crossroads Freewill Baptist Church and she loved her church family very much. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and a friend to all. She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers.
Lois is survived by her children- Sherry Miller (Jim) of Crossville, TN, Susie Miller of Crawford, TN, Wayne Miller (Jackie) of Sparta, TN; grandchildren- Kemberley Ann Hardin Baird, Penny Laine Miller Bey (Sal), Darcy Daniel Smith (Rene’), and Mark Thomas Kelly (Tammy); nine great grandchildren- Tabitha Nelson, Christopher Baird, Elijah Smith, Annabelle Smith, Olivia, Abigail, Tommy, Andrew, and Corey Kelly; and siblings- Tony Hodgin and Patsy Hodgins Qualls.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband- Norman Miller; and siblings- Katherine Freeman, Ralph Hodgin, Wendell Hodgins, J.C. Hodgin, and Wilber Coy Hodgin.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home from 12-2pm with a funeral service to follow. Danny Allen, Larry Long, and Ed Shaver will be officiating. Burial will be in Green Acres with pallbearers being Darcy, Elijah, Christopher, Brandon, Mark, Wayne, and Jason.

Thank you for sharing Lois’s obituary. I am deeply saddened by her passing and have been moved to tears. Lois was a truly wonderful lady, embodying kindness and warmth in everything she did. Her generosity and caring nature left a lasting impression on both me, my mother and my grandfather, Earl Turner. She will always be remembered fondly in our hearts.
