Janice Marie Rosback was born in Oak Park, IL and was the first child of Donald & Geneva Rosback (both deceased). She has a sister Jean (deceased) and a brother Thomas (Salida, CO).

Janice was married to her college sweetheart (Alan Gillespie) and together they have 2 sons – Scot Gillespie (Kodak, TN) and David Gillespie (Glenview, ll) and their adopted fur-friend Phineas. Together she & Alan enjoyed over 57 years of loving and joyful times together.

She loved her health care profession and had a successful career as a Registered Nurse specializing in Emergency care & Trauma. She retired in 2017 as the program manager of the Trauma program at Loyola University Medical Center in Illinois.

Her interests included her family – her sons, her grandchildren (Christopher, Elizabeth, and Jessen) and her great granddaughter (Adaline). She had a strong Christian faith and was very active in her church. Another interest was American history being a long time member of a national President Lincoln education group and was a founding member and officer of the Cumberland Mountain Civil War Round Table organization.

Janice will be sorely missed by her family and many friends and was surly welcomed at her arrival in Heaven.

  1. There are no words for how much I will miss you, Jan. You were the best. I am beyond sad. But you will be with your mom and dad and sister. You were a wonderful person and so much fun. My prayers are with Al at this time, as well.

  2. Jan was one of the finest examples of human being that I have ever had the pleasure to have in my life. Her caring was without bounds for her large group of friends and family. My life will be forever better for having her touch it. I will miss her tremendously until we are able to meet again at the foot of God’s Throne.

  3. Jan’s beautiful smile, laugh and sense of humor will be greatly missed . Prayers go to Al and family for comfort in this difficult time.
