Unfortunately we cannot attend the Service on May 17th. bur we will be there in spirit sharing in the believe that Charlie ( Bruce ) is once again with his parents & brother Greg sharing in Gods love for all.
Bruce’s Mom Pauline was my Sister & back in the 50th’s her and Charles ( Charlie ) were married in our home town of Stephenville, Newfoundland. Charlie was in the American Service stationed at the Earnest Harmon Air base in Stephenville & later moved to Charlie’s Home Town of Hamilton, Ohio, where Bruce was born. Pauline & Charlie raised a beautiful family who remained in Contacts with our overall family over many years. We are truly blessed as an extended family & Bruce will be missed by all

  3. All of us Canadian cousins fondly knew Charles as Bruce. I have so many good memories of him at family gatherings and during visits to his home, first in NC and later in Crossville TN. He was always quick to smile, laugh, tell a story or listen to one and he made sure if you were visiting his family you were going to have good experiences and you would feel very welcomed.

I am sorry that we can’t make it to the services on Friday and am so saddened to learn of his sudden passing. I believe he is being welcomed in Heaven by family that have gone before him and by the Lord who instilled him with so many gifts.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Patty, Adam, Clift, Shelly and all of your extended families as well. God bless everyone.

  4. Charlie was a true Winter Texan that had a heart of gold đŸ’› because he knew no stranger and would help anyone that was in need of help. Charlie was a big part of the Ranchero winter Texan family. Charlie spent many hours with his RC race cars going around and around plus on Sunday afternoon he would bring a couple RC cars and Drag Race with a group having fun and laughing. That’s how everyone knew Charlie a man having the best of times no matter what he was doing.

It’s never easy to lose someone who is loved by all and Charlie will be missed by his loved ones, family, friends and anyone who was touched by Charlie. Rest in Peace my friend.

  5. When I think about my cousin Bruce ( Charlie ) I see his big smile and warm welcome. He was always friendly and made your spirit lift as you talked to him. Though time, distance and country’s were between us, I never felt that mattered and neither would he. He will be missed.

Prayers and God Bless Bruce ( Charlie ), Patty, Adam, Clift, Shelley and the families

  6. Our most sincere condolences to the Strayer family. Unfortunately, we will not be able to attend the service to honor Charlie’s life. Patty, Shelly and Clift – you and your families are in our thoughts and prayers.

Adam, Michelle, Emily, Allie and Taylor… We are very sorry for your loss and we love you.

  7. To Patty and Family,
I was so deeply distressed to learn of Charlie’s passing. Of course, such a shock, and I know how much his presence will be sorely missed by so, so many.
Words seem so little to offer in the way of comfort but I pray you all what my Heartfelt sympathies can bring at this painful, challenging time.
I very wise poet once left us with this:
DEATH IS NOT HERE TO EXTINGUISH THE LIGHT.
IT IS HERE TO PUT OUT THE LAMP,
    BECAUSE THE DAWN IS COMING!
With Love…K i m (Of Sandy and Kim)

  8. My deepest sympathy to Patty and the family in the passing of Charlie. I found out from a neighbor of his passing and was deeply saddened. He was a good man in the 20 years that my husband and I knew him and Patty.
