Jonathan Earl Holland

June 14, 1971 – May 3, 2024

Jonathan Earl Holland died peacefully in his sleep May 3, 2024. He was preceded in death by his mother, Joanne Lewis Holland (Boone, North Carolina). He is survived by his loving wife Kelly Jones Holland, and daughter Brianna Elisabeth Holland of the home, father Ralph Earl Holland (Boone, NC), brother Timothy Holland and wife Carrie Holland (Boone, NC), sister Erin Brumm and husband Dr. Mathew Brumm (Omaha, NE), nephew and niece Elias and Abigail Holland (Boone), and nephews Daniel, Andrew, and James Brumm, (Omaha).

Jonathan was born in Maryville Tennessee, and spent much of his youth in Boone, NC. He and Kelly married in 1995 and moved to Crossville TN. Jonathan was an intelligent, compassionate man with a huge heart, and was a very giving person. He held two masters degrees  – one in Higher Education, and the other, English. Everyone who met Jonathan knew him to be polite, well-spoken, and charismatic. He attended First Christian Church and loved the Lord. Jonathan was very environmentally conscious and cared about keeping God’s earth clean. In his free time he could be found with a good book or his Bible, or watching tv while relaxing at home. He was a big fan of the Atlanta Braves and Tennessee Vols. He loved his family dearly and will be missed by so many.

  1. I knew Jonathan growing up in Boone. I am so sorry and praying so for your family!!! Keep your eyes on Christ. I pray His peace that goes beyond understanding will be with you!

  2. So sad to learn of Jonathan’s passing. We reconnected in 2010 on Facebook and talked a few times about growing up in Boone and how our lives had changed with education and experience. I’m sending his wife and family much love, peace and light. He was one of the good guys, and I know he will be missed.

  3. I worked with Jonathan at walmart for years he was always so nice to everyone. Great man to have known. RIP friend.
