David Lee Jewell, 62, of Crossville, TN passed away July 5, 2012 at The Veterans Hospital in Nashville, TN.  A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 9, 2012 at 1:30 pm Eastern time in the East TN Veterans Cemetery on Gov. John Sevier Blvd in Knoxville, TN. Rev. Jim Mesereau will officiate the service.

He was born on December 23, 1949 in Toledo, Ohio. After serving in the United States Navy he worked as a civil engineer for industrial construction. David enjoyed fishing, gardening and was an oil painting artist.

Survived by his wife- Joyce Taylor Jewell from Knoxville, TN; sons- Matthew Jewell and wife Michelle of Staunton, VA, and Michael Jewell of Chicago, IL; stepdaughter- Gwendolyn Bruglio and husband Joseph of Kingston, TN; stepson- James Huffstetler of Angola, IN; grandchild- Zoe Jewell; brother- Phillip Jewell and wife Catherine of Coldwater, MI.

David was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Anne Houseknecht Jewell and grandson Milo Jewell.
