Brenda Jo Huffman, age 73, was born on April 9, 1949 to Howard Simmons and Clara Bush Simmons in Manchester, TN and passed away on July 16, 2022 in Oak Ridge, TN.  Brenda lived the early part of her life in Muncie, IN and moved to TN in 2008.  She had resided in Crossville, TN since 2012 where she was living at the time of her passing.  She was a devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend to everyone she met.  She took pride in her job as Director of Housekeeping at Middle TN Medical Center.

Brenda enjoyed her family and loved each of them “To the Moon and Back”.  She was the happiest when her family gathered together to eat a meal she had so lovingly prepared.  She loved to play songs of praise on the piano and accordion while singing from her heart.  She overcame numerous medical battles since 2012 and referred to herself as a “fighter” with her sister Janet by her side. Her legacy would include compassion, sympathy, and a great love for others.  

She is survived by her husband Gordon Huffman, son – Todd Simmons (Lorie ), grandchildren – Bryce, Brody, Brandon, and Bryant, sister – Janet Dishman (Steven), sister-in-laws – Mary Simmons, Sandy Simmons, and Deloris Huffman, numerous – nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents Charlie Simmons (Sally), Aubrey Bush (Vergie), parents, brother Danny Simmons, and brother Rick Simmons.  

Services will be held at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, July 22, 2022. Visitation will be from 11a-12p with the service to follow at 12p. Burial will be in Green Acres Memory Garden immediately following the service.
