Marvin Roy Seagraves, age 75, was born on December 27, 1945 to Andrew and Lorene Abston Seagraves in Cumberland Co., TN. He passed away on May 3, 2021. Marvin lived his life as a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. He enjoyed fishing, camping, playing cards, and laughing with those he loved dearly. Marvin was a preacher’s kid, and he stood strong on God’s principles. He preached from the King James Bible that Hell is Hot, Heaven is Real, and Jesus is the only way of salvation. Marvin died having taught his family and others more about faith by his walk with the Lord than he ever spoke. Marvin is a veteran of the United States Army, and he served our country during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Seagraves; daughters: Patricia (Keith) Umberger, Janice (Dwajuan) Howse, and Crystal Seagraves; grandchildren, Adora Roysden, Mackenzie Howse, and Katelyn Umberger; great grandchild, Gunner Castelow; and siblings, Rosetta Findley, Mollie Seagraves, and Marie Burden.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Frank and Alfred Seagraves.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 9:00 to 12:00 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services for Marvin will also be held on Saturday following visitation with Aric Seiber, James Ford, and T.L. Page officiating. He will be laid to rest in New Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
