Gladys Mae Reed True, age 72, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2020, surrounded by her family. Gladys was born on March 4, 1948, in Grandview, Tennessee to Eugene and Betty Reed. Her father Eugene, grandson Cameron Adams, and husband of 48 years, Homer Charles True, preceded her in death.
Gladys worked at Kayer Roth in Dayton, TN, for 30 years before retiring in 2010. She enjoyed selling Avon and was a proud member of the Spring City Ladies Auxiliary, Local 203, where she served as the Historian for the past several years. Gladys loved serving her community through her work with the Ladies Auxiliary.
Gladys loved to play bingo and enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino. She loved it when her daughters tagged along for fun. She also enjoyed her Monday night Bunco games with great friends.
Gladys is survived by her mother Betty James, daughters Sonya Hale, Lisa (Mickey) Orick, Kim (Bryan) Bayles, and Beth (Toby) Ashley, stepdaughters Beverly (Greg) Isenhour and Becky (Eddie) Moss, sister Connie (Elmer) Pelfrey, and brother Billy (Bonnie) Reed. Gladys had thirteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at St. Clair Baptist Church, 760 Rocky Springs Road, Spring City, TN, on Sunday, September 6, 2020, from 2 – 4pm, with funeral service immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Spring City Ladies Auxiliary, Local 203, or St. Clair Baptist Church.
