Mary Sue (Tays) Button

November 9, 1940 – August 26, 2018
Mary Sue passed away at age 77 after battling a long illness. Sue was born to the late Lillie Belle and Carson Tays.  Sue and her husband, Ray, were owner/operators of Ray’s Jewelry Store in Crossville until his death in 2012.
She is survived by two daughters, Melissa (Button) Rosser (Mark) and Cynthia (Button) Norrod (Ray); two granddaughters, Tiffany (Rosser) Griffith (Steve) and Danielle Rosser. She is also survived by one brother, Bill Tays, and one sister, Norma (Tays) Hyder.
Sue was a loving mother and grandmother, who will be greatly missed by her family. She was a member at Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 11 to 1 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service for Sue will also be held on Wednesday following visitation at 1 with Gary Robbins and Mark Bass officiating. She will be laid to rest in Mayland Cemetery.
Crossville Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

  1. I have wonderful memories of our yearly vacations to Tennessee and the time I spent with Sue! I am saddened by her passing and everyone in the family is in my prayers.

  2. I loved Mary Sue. She was a wonderful woman. We became friends while I was working at Crossville Medical Group.
    She gave me one of the first gifts if not the first gift when I found out I was expecting our miracle, rainbow baby. It was a charm of a pair of baby booties. I still have it to this day. That miracle turned 21 years old on August 20th.
    My prayers are with you all. “Earth’s loss is Heaven’s gain”.

  3. So sad to her of Mary Sue Button’s passing. I am devastated by the news.
    She was a beautiful lady, inside and out. I loved her, beyond words.
    I will miss her kindness and laughter. She was an amazing woman.
    Those that were touched by her, were truly blessed.

    I was shocked to learn, of her passing. I have fond memories of her.
    She was beautiful inside and out. She gave everyone, a smile, a shoulder to cry on. She was a pillar of strength for those she loved. She changed my life, in many ways. Her love and laughter, I have and will cherish forever.
