Shirley Ann Farris, 72, was born on May 28, 1945 to the late Lawrence and Sally Upchurch Slagle in Carthage, TN. She passed away on December 25, 2017. Shirley loved going to church and talking with friends and family on the phone. She also enjoyed driving down country back roads and listening to country music and old-time rock and roll.

She is survived by her daughters- Angie Sharp and Dorrinda Farris; grandchildren- Jason Shawn Sharp and Cheyenne Braxton Sharp; and siblings- Peggy Witsell, Jimmy Slagle, Roger Slagle, and Janice Phipps.

She is preceded in death by her husband- Vergene Burl Farris; parents- Lawrence and Sally Upchurch Slagle; daughter- Ericka Renae Farris; and siblings- Carolyn Lee Bowman and Lawrence Fred Slagle, Jr.

Family will receive friends on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service for Shirley will be held at Crossville Memorial on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 1 p.m. with Dr. Ronnie Pierce officiating. She will be laid to rest in Green Acres Memory Gardens.
