Herbert Lon Pyles, age 72, was born on April 13, 1944 to Woodrow and Verdie Pyles and passed away on February 10, 2017 surrounded by his family in his home in Grandview, TN. He was self-employed in the rock and log business doing everything from excavation to delivery. He enjoyed fishing and listening to bluegrass music, but his family was his passion. He loved his grandchildren and they fondly remember the many hay rides he took them on.

Herbert is survived by his wife of 52 years- Evadine Pyles; son- John Stacey Pyles; daughters- Sharon Reed, Karen Hayes (Jerry), and Melissa McClung (Mark); grandchildren- Drew Hayton Matt Young, Ashley Reed, Heather Reed, Jesse Pyle, Lacey Allen, Adam Hayes, Brian McClung (Heather). and Alyssa McClung; great grandchildren- Billy Jack Hayton, Julianna Hayton, Hope Northcutt, Payton Reed, Amy Reed, Sophia Hayes, Ian Hayes and Henley Caroline McClung; brothers- Bobby and Sammy Pyles; and his dog- Shorty.

He is preceded in death by his parents- Woodrow Pyles and Verdie Ellen Harvey Pyles, and brothers- James, Melvin, Roger, Tommy, and Danny Pyles.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 12, 2012, from 5 to 8 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and the funeral will be held on Monday at 1:00. The burial will follow in the Johnson Stand Cemetery.
