Dorthy Violet Kerley, age 95, was born on February 23, 1921 to the late Wilburn and Ida Kerley Brown in Crossville, TN. She passed away on April 14, 2016 in Crossville, TN. In her spare time, Violet loved to crochet and read. She also enjoyed working puzzles and playing Scrabble.

She is survived by her brother- Roy Evans Brown; sister- Doris Rosalie Phifer; children- Tim Kerley and Ruth Lucas (Wayne); grandsons- J.R. Neely and Jody Neely, and great granddaughters Ainslee Lauren Neely and Ashley Violet Neely.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers- Arnold Wilburn Brown, Ernest Martin Brown, Carl Lee Brown, Glenn Eugene Brown; and sisters- Lucille Brown, Pauline Marie Frady, and Vera Lois Rogers.

Family will be receiving friends on Saturday, April 16, 2016 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service for Violet will also be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. with Tim Watts and Steve Watts officiating. She will be laid to rest in Linary Cemetery in Crossville, TN.
