Leonard A. Russo, 89, of Fairfield Glade, TN, and formerly of Bernardsville, NJ, passed away on April 9, 2016, at the Cumberland House in Crossville, TN. Len was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was the devoted son of Vincent and Carmela Russo.
Mr. Russo is survived by his wife, Shirley Krom Russo, of 49 years, brother, Fred Russo, of Vero Beach, FL, and sister Marie Forsythe and brother Al Russo of Bernardsville, NJ. Surviving children include Bob Mills of Highland, NC, and Sandee Garion of Lake Worth, FL. Mr. Russo has 10 nieces and nephews, 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren that he absolutely adored. He was predeceased by brothers Jerry and Jim of Bernardsville, NJ, a daughter, Pam McLaughlin, and son, Gregory Mills.
Mr. Russo lived in NJ before moving to Fairfield Glade, TN, 19 years ago. Mr. Russo proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Russo worked as a manger in the A&P and Food Town stores in NJ.
Mr. Russo was an avid golfer, bowler, and he enjoyed woodworking and working in the yard. He was a season-ticket holder of box seats for the New York Giants for more than 30 years and he also loved the New York Mets. Mr. Russo was a fourth degree of Knights of Columbus and was a member of Saint Francis Assisi Church.
Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cumberland Hospice House in Crossville, TN.
