Elizabeth Ann Hodge passed away on Friday, the 26th of February, 2016. She was born the 19th of February, 1931, the daughter of Fred Leroy and Edna Mae Wallick Allison. She married Carl Cecil Hodge on the 3rd of July, 1950. She was a member of the Crab Orchard Church of God.
Elizabeth, called Libby by many friends and family members, was a stay at home mother of four children, Harold Eugene Hodge, Delores Jean Miller, Patricia Ann Hawn, and Gary Lynn Hodge. In her quiet manner, she managed things at home and raised wonderful children while her husband worked away on the railroad. During those years she worked at Fairfield Glade when it first opened, and at Roselon Southern. When her youngest son graduated from high school in 1976, Elizabeth joined her husband in Syracuse, New York where they enjoyed six years together before Carl’s death in 1982. She moved back to Crossville and lived with her daughter Pat at the family home in Crab Orchard until her death.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Edna Allison, husband Carl Cecil Hodge, daughter Delores “Sissy” Miller, son Gary Hodge, great-grandson Andrew Begley, and sister Juanita Bohannon. She is survived by her brother Art Allison of Battle Ground, Washington, son Harold Hodge and his wife, Judy of Madison, Kansas, daughter Patricia Hawn of Crossville, grandchildren, Mary “Meme” Martin , Scott Hodge, Stacey Peters, Erin Rindt, Amy Miller, Brandon Miller, Joe Hawn, Kim Thompson and husband Joe, Danny Bilyeu, Abigail Hayes and husband Matthew, 28 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Elizabeth’s family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 10 a.m. also at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Smith officiating. She will be laid to rest in Haley’s Grove Cemetery.
