Carl Irwin Davis, age 79, was born on September 22, 1936 to Ted and Martha Davis in Primroy, TN and passed away November 28, 2015 in Cookeville, TN. He served his country in the Marine Corps and then became a security manager for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. Carl owned Going Places Shuttle Service and drove for Uplands Retirement Community for 3 years. He built his last two houses and has enjoyed his latest business as a local beekeeper supplying the community with honey. The Honey Pail will continue to be ran by his daughter and grandson. He also did high impact aerobics three times a week with the girls at the Wellness Complex.
He is survived by his wife- Diane Manhart Davis; son- James Sloan Davis (Celine); daughters- Wendy Su’ Juhl (Bruce) and Paula Evelyn Bilbrey (LeeRoy); grandchildren- Desire’ Su’, Christopher, Crystal, Carl, and Danielle; several great grandchildren; brothers- Lawrence and Eddie Davis; and sisters- Janet Johnson and Joyce Davis.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents- Ted Davis and Martha Louise Leach Davis; brothers- Jobe and Kenneth Davis; and sisters- Kathleen Powers, Gladys Wyatt, Geraldine Hyder, and Glenna Tabor.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 3, 2015, from 2 to 3 with a service to follow at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. His daughter, Wendy Su’ Juhl will officiate.
