Nancy L. Adams White, age 88, of Crossville, TN, passed away on April 24, 2014.
She was born to the late Herbert Congleton Adams and Lena Dunham Adams, July 29, 1925, in Parkersburg, WV. Nancy received a BA and MA degree from West Virginia University and was a member of Chi Omega sorority and the Methodist church. She was a high school history and drama teacher in Bridgeport, WV, for many years and was passionate about making a difference in the lives of her students.
A life-long West Virginia University Mountaineer football fan, Nancy’s other interests in life included an avid love for playing tennis, golf and bridge, as well as reading. She shared her enthusiasm and encouragement for reading, serving as a volunteer for Kids on the Rise, a non-profit organization that provides mentors to Cumberland County schools in Crossville, TN.
Nancy is survived by her two nieces Deborah Adams Nikjeh of Palm Harbor, FL, and Vicki Adams Moses of Tampa, FL, along with their children Talah Goodwin of Charlotte, NC, Ari Nikjeh of Los Angeles, CA, Nicholas Moses of Riverview, FL and Jordan Moses of Tampa, FL.
Nancy was preceded in death by her brother Ronald H. Adams and her husband Herbert J. White. A graveside ceremony and burial was held on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at Green Acres Memory Gardens in Crossville.
