Marlene Smith, 68, of Putnam County, passed away Sept. 13, 2011. A graveside service was held Sept. 15 in New Pleasant Hill Cemetery, with Bro. Junior Masters officiating.

Mrs. Smith was born Oct. 19, 1942, in Crossville, the daughter of Noah and Winnie Marlow Beam.

She worked at the Health Department, Home Health Dept. and as a Nurse’s aid.

Survivors include her sons, Joe Bible and Michael Bible; daughter, Dawn Heilmeier; grandchildren, Whitney Tollett, Cathleen Heilmeier and Frankie Heilmeier; great-grandchild, Shaylee Tollett; brothers, James Beam, Junior Beam, Luther Beam; and sister, Veronica Woody.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Smith; son, Terry Bible; and brother, Clifton Beam.

Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
