John William Irvin, 85, of Crossville, TN passed away on December 2, 2013 at his home. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Tansi Community Church with Dr. Paul Dixon officiating. Family will receive friends on Tuesday at 1:00 pm. Bill enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, boating, and painting beautiful landscapes. He was a native Nashvillian. Bill served in the United States Army, he’s a veteran of the Korean War; 32 Degree Mason, and Shriner. He retired to Lake Tansi Village in 1990.Bill was the owner of Irvin Tire company.  Bill was a member of Lake Tansi Community Church. He was born on March 8, 1928 in Sumter, South Carolina to Robert Etheridge and Lynne Elwood Thornley Irvin.

Bill is survived by his wife of 59 years Betty Mayberry Irvin; daughters: Stephanie, Amy, and Celeste; grandchildren: David, Jaret, Tyler, and Holly; great grandchildren: Davis, and Marley; brother: R.E. “Jack” Irvin (Jana); son-in-law: Wm. Max Scholz,; sister-in-law: Loretta Colson. He was preceded in death by his parents: R.E. “Jack” and Lynne Irvin.
