Carey Gardner Mumford, Jr, 84, of Crossville, TN passed away on October 18, 2013 at his home. He was born on Feb. 17, 1929 in Raleigh, NC to Dr. Carey G. Mumford and Fannie Cleone Cooper Mumford. Carey attended Wake Forest University and Colgate Rochester Divinity School. He was a retired Chaplain, and golf consultant. He enjoyed golf, and computers.

Carey is survived by: wife: Janice Cyphert Mumford; son: Erich Mumford (Kristin), Gregory Mumford (Carrie), and Brent Mumford; grandchildren: Jordan, Jackson, Alexander, Lydia, and  Addison; sisters: Virginia Nance of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Nancy Pencsak of Dallas, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant son: Bryan Kirk Mumford.
