Bobby Louis Johns, age 87, was born on June 24, 1926 in Zephyr Hills, FL to Samuel and Estelle Johns and passed away September 13, 2013 in Crossville, TN. He was a contractor by trade and when he wasn’t working, enjoyed woodworking, square dancing, exercise, taking in nature around him and horticulture. Bobby served in WWII on the USS Eldorado during the Battle of Iwo Jima.

He is survived by sons- Dale Johns (Kitty), Brian Johns (Marion), Sam Johns (Shannon), and Jason Johns (Stephanie); daughter- Laraine Siu; eight grandchildren- Heather, Bobby, Brian, Krista, Jordan, Sophia, Spencer, and Charlotte; five great grandchildren- Alexis, Breanna, Cadence, Audrey, and Emma.

Bobby is preceded in death by his parents- Samuel Johns and Estelle Hodge Johns; wife- Roslyn Smalley Johns; daughter- Lurline Johns Yarbrough; and sister- Dottie Jordan

His family will receive friends on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, at 12:30 with a memorial service to follow at 1:00. Br. Gene Burgess will officiate with military honors to follow.
