Ernest Melvin Wood, Sr, 88, of Crossville, TN passed away on June 11, 2013 at Cumberland House.  Ernest served in the United States Navy in WW II.. He worked as a painter, enjoyed fishing, golfing, hunting. Ernest was a lifetime member of the VFW. He will be laid to rest Chico Cemetery in Chico, CA. Ernest was born on April 17, 1925 in Chico, CA.

Ernest is survived by his wife: Sharon Crary Wood; son: Ernest Wood, Jr.; daughters: Carolyn Schuch (Chip), Pamela Curry (Keith), and Rhonda Davis (Marvin); grandchildren: Ken Webb, Stacy Webb, Andrea Schuch, David Raulston, and Adam Golden; five great grandchildren; brothers: Willard, Ken, Jerry and Don Wood; Sisters: Lois Sherril, Darlene Pori, and Thelma Batham.

He was preceded in death by parents Elmer and Rose Mosier Wood; wife: Lois Vandenbush Wood; brother: Ralph Wood; sisters: Evelyn White, and Marjorie Bracken.
