Franklin Adcox, 80, of Crossville, TN passed away on May 24, 2013 at Cumberland Medical Center. Family will receive friends on Tuesday May 28 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm in the chapel of Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Service will follow at 2:00 pm with burial in Crossville City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rick Adcox, Mike Smith, Todd Adcox, Mike Adcox, Adam Adcox, and Loren Coon.
Franklin served over seas during the Korean War in the United States Army. He enjoyed working on cars, gardening, and amateur radio. Franklin was born on November 7, 1932 in Kingston, TN to Gilbert and Addie Johnson Adcox.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Velma Wright Adcox; sons: Michael Adcox, and Rick Adcox; daughters: Karen Skinner, and Patti Smith (Michael); grandchildren: Christopher, Melissa, Todd, Mikey, Amanda, Shauna, Adam, Kim, and Alicia; 17 great grandchildren; brother Gifford Adcox; sister Elsie Tollett. Franklin was preceded in death by his parents; son Larry Adcox; grandson: Matthew Easterly, and brother Eugene Adcox.
