Albert Denton Wood, 87, of Crossville, TN passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013. He was a long time member of Fairview Baptist Church.
Mr. Wood worked for many years at Manchester Tank before becoming a custodian for the Cumberland County School System were he retired from. Mr Wood was a loving and devoted husband and father. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Betty Pauline Wood. Four loving daughters and three son-in-laws. Mae and Roger Snyder, Betty and Mike Henderson, Linda and Roger Hill, and Janice Wyatt. He has six grandchildren: Charlotte Nealon, Jeremy Sells, Melody York, Crystal Partyka, TJ Wyatt, and Tasha Wyatt. He also has eight great grandchildren: Rachel and Jacob Nealon, Ryan and Dylan Sells, Hanna, Rachel and Clair York, and Faith Brown. He also leaves behind four brothers and sister-in-laws Harless and Roberta Wood, Hebron and Margie Wood, O.C. and Edith Wood, and Richard and Elizabeth Wood. He also leaves two sisters and brother-in-law Mae and Jack Hill, and Ruby and J.B. King.
He is preceded in death by loving daughter Doris Arlene Lynn, Parents: Cleveland and Florence Wood, brother Estel Wood, and sisters Mary Ellen Brewer and Addean Standefer.
Services will be conducted at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home at 1:00 Friday April 26, 2013 by preacher Robert Pollard with burial to follow at Akins Cemetery. Pallbearers are Richard Standefer, Rockie Standefer, Chirs Hill, Tim Roark, Ryan Sells, and Tim Nealon.
