Johnnie Gene Yates, 83, of Crossville passed away on April 4, 2013 at Cumberland Medical Center. Family will receive friends on Sunday April 7 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm in the Chapel of Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service to follow at 4 with David Wilkerson officiating. Burial in Big Lick Cemetery.

He was born on  April 2, 1930 in Covina, CA to Roy and Lou Ransom Yates. Served in the United States Army.

Johnnie is survived by sons: Tim Yates (Valerie), Jack Yates all of Crossville, TN, Jerry Lee Lowe (Shelia) of Iowa; daughter: Janice Marie Thomas of North Carolina; Grandchildren: Cameron Yates (Monica) of Jamestown, TN, and Kendall Yates of Crossville, TN.  He is preceded in death by his parents, wife: Jean Lucille Lowe Yates, brothers: Dubb Yates, and Charles Yates.
