Hinds, Delmas DeWitt

Born: October 31, 1938, Kinston NC

Died: March 29, 2013, Crossville, TN, age 74

Mr. Hinds was born in Kinston, North Carolina, but spent most of his childhood in the state of Tennessee. Mr. Hinds received his bachelor’s degree from Berea College, Berea, KY, in 1955, and participated in graduate studies at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.  He worked most of his career in the insurance industry.  He was a resident of Mt. Juliet, TN, for many years and retired ten years ago to Crossville.  He was an active member of Homestead Methodist Church in Crossville. He was an avid painter,  bird watcher, music lover, and reader and writer (poet).

He is preceded in death by his mother, Corinne Hinds and father,  Delmas Delphin Hinds. Surviving family members are three children, Elizabeth Denise of Crossville, David Anthony (Sheryl), and five grandchildren of San Antonio, TX, and Jessica (Robert) Dunn of Pegram, Tennessee. He has two surviving sisters, Linda Cullity of Crossville, and Pamela (Dean) Whitaker of Rush, KY, as well as cousins, nephews, neices, and other family members.
