Winifred Welch, age 84, was born December 9, 1927 in Mexico City, Mexico and died November 15, 2012 in Pleasant Hill, TN. She had a B.A. and was a school teacher in Texas for 30 years. She enjoyed playing the piano, quilting, reading, and playing bridge. Winifred was a member of the Pleasant Hill Community Church and enjoyed being a community service volunteer. She was a volunteer at the Cumberland County Playhouse, Habitat for Humanity, Creative Compassion, and Church Women United. She was also active with VORP (Victim Offender Reconciliation Program) before she became ill.
She is survived by her husband- Ben T. Welch; sons- Don and Julia Welch, Rick and Shelia Welch, Kip Welch and Christine Boynton, Ed Welch and Shannon Casey; daughter- Debbie and Steve Douglas; grandchildren- Erica and Elias, Anna and Nelson, Zach and Whitney, Alex and Juma, Deborah, Jacob, Sarah and Kevin, Jacob J., Damon, Sarah, Kyle, Annika, and Aislinn; great grandchildren- Ben, Nico, and Emma; brother- John Schaumburg from Portland, OR.
Winifred was preceded in death by her parents- Ludwig and Lily Schrader Schaumburg and brother- Lew Schaumburg.
