William Clark Burchfield, Jr.

William Burchfield, age 70, was born on October 8, 1942 in Knoxville, TN  and died November 10, 2012 in Crossville, TN. He enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed at Otis Air Force Base, the Bomark Missile Site, in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He left to apprentice to be a glassblower at Pairpoint Crystal in Sagamore, MA. In 1976, he became a master glassblower and left to start his own company, Cape Cod Glass Works. It was a family business with his sons Mark Burchfield and Matt Burchfield working along side of him until the 1990’s. He was then given the honor of being asked to join Crafter’s Alley in Dollywood. He was a family man that loved laughing with his children, talking with his wife, and playing with his dogs. After a lengthy illness, he passed away in his home in Crossville, TN.

He is survived by his wife- Karen Burchfield; sons- Mark Burchfield, Matt Burchfield, Brian Bazinet, and Daniel Bazinet; daughters- Michelle Henderson, Missy, and Holly Tanner; 23 grandchildren; and sister, Diane Hicks.

He was preceded in death by his parents- William Clark Sr and Pollyanna Swatts Burchfield.
