Blaine Manning, 91, of Crossville passed away on Sept. 26, 2012 at Cumberland House. Mr. Manning’s service will be held on Friday, September 28, at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Crossville Memorial Funeral Home with Mike McCoy officiating. Family will receive friends from 11:00 to 1:00 pm on Friday. Burial will be in Linary Cemetery. Honor Guard will provide full military honors. Pallbearers will be Butch Nelson, Rex Tanner, Ricky Nelson, Chris Miller, Michael Miller, Jerry Netherton. Honorary Pallbearer J. C. Pugh.
Blaine was born on December 13, 1920 to Dennis and Hattie Manning in Crossville, TN. He attended Cumberland Homestead School. Entered the service on July 30, 1942. He took his training at Fort Riley, KS from there he was sent to the Western Coast, then back to Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. and to Camp Livingston, LA where he completed his training. Mr. Manning was then sent to New York where he was sent overseas and served in the United States Army Infantry “somewhere in France”. After completing his tour of duty he worked as a truck driver.
He is survived by his wife Pauline McKelvey Manning; children Brenda Manning, Larry Manning, Brenda Nelson, Pat Tanner, and Gordon Miller. Many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Clyde and Claude Manning.
