Charles David Trisdale

Charles Trisdale, age 38, was born on August 13, 1986 to David Trisdale & Angela (Sherrill) Shelton and passed away on November 15, 2024 in Crossville, TN. He enjoyed everything to do with trees, reading his Bible, and putting on his cowboy hat and heading to the rodeo, when it was in town.

He is survived by his wife- Jamie Trisdale; mother & stepfather- Angela & Stacey Shelton; children- Ashley Trisdale, Baylie Trisdale, Jailynn Flynn, Devon Flynn, and Honey Flynn; grandchild on the way- Lyric Elizabeth; and siblings- Crystal Nicholas, Christopher Nicholas, Chad Trisdale, Chase Trisdale, and Dacoda Shelton.

Charles was preceded in death by his father- David Bruce Trisdale; and his brother- Teddy Randall.

Services will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12-2pm, with the service to follow at 2pm, Bro. Olen Wooden officiating. He will be laid to rest in Trisdale Family Cemetery immediately following the service.

Greg Bowman

Beloved Husband, Father, Pawpaw, and Friend

Greg Bowman, age 70, of Crossville, TN, passed away unexpectedly on November 8, 2024. He was a loving husband, devoted dad, proud pawpaw, and a friend to many.

Born on August 7, 1954, in Crossville, TN, Greg was a graduate of Cumberland County High School (Class of 1972). He went on to earn a business degree from the University of Tennessee, a foundation that would serve him well throughout his life. In 1982, Greg combined his business acumen and construction experience to start Bowman Construction. Over the next 40 years, he grew the company into a successful and respected business.

Greg married the love of his life, Marcia, and together they shared nearly 38 years of joy and companionship. As true best friends, they found happiness in the simplest moments, filling their life with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.

Greg was a proud father to three children—Travis, Bo, and Kari—and a devoted grandfather to four grandchildren, Kyle, Brynlee, Bree, and Eleanor Watson. He instilled in his children the values of honesty, hard work, and integrity, always encouraging them to take the high road. Greg was always there to listen, offer advice, and be a steady presence, ready to drop everything when his family needed him. Above all, he was simply the best dad.

Greg was a man of quiet generosity and humility. He loved spending time at home with his family, finding joy in life’s small pleasures. Whether cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers with a plate of Rotel dip and sausage balls, cruising the lake with Marcia on warm summer days, or riding his grandkids around on the side-by-side, Greg cherished time spent with loved ones. He found peace working around the house, whether tinkering with the skid steer or sitting on the porch with a glass of unsweet tea, watching the hummingbirds. His easygoing nature and kind spirit touched everyone he met.

Greg’s warmth, generosity, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His absence will be felt everyday.

Greg is survived by his loving wife, Marcia Bowman; children, Travis (Leslie) Watson, Bo (Balie) Watson, and Kari Bowman; grandchildren, Kyle, Brynlee, Bree, and Eleanor Watson; and many extended family members and friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, November 18th, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home.

Ann S. Calahan

Ann Calahan, age 90, was born on November 26, 1933 to the late George W. and Juanita (Winningham) Smith in Livingston, TN and she passed away on November 9, 2024 in Harriman.

Ann is survived by her sister- Janice Cobb and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband- Jim Calahan.

Services will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be at 1:00pm, with the service to follow at 2:00pm, Jared Moore officiating. She will be laid to rest in Crossville City Cemetery immediately following the service.

Debra “Nene” Darlene Bowman

Debra “Nene” Bowman, 66, of Hanging Limb, was born on August 31, 1958 to Ted and Nancy Gray in Atlanta, GA. She passed away on November 4, 2024 at St. Thomas Midtown in Nashville, TN. She was a caregiver and a member of Calvary Freewill Baptist Church in Hanging Limb.

She is survived by her husband- Bruce Bowman of Hanging limb; father- Ted Gray of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; daughter- Shannon Wright of Hanging Limb; son- Jesse (Samantha) Bowman of Hanging Limb; son- Ramey Kyle of Washington DC; grandchildren- Casey Wright, Austin (Tiffiney) Wright, Joshua “Bug” Rogers, Kadence Bowman, and Ryan Reynolds, all of Hanging Limb, Raylan Kyle and Arlen Kyle of Washington DC; great grandchildren- Riley Bruce Wright and Cooper Brooks Wright of Cookeville; brother- Brad (Gretta) Leggett of Carlton, GA; special family friend- Ida Sue Custard of Atlanta, GA and Brenda Merrill of Miami, FL; and additional loved ones- Brandon (Jenna) Reagan of Hanging Limb, Annette Johnson of Hanging Limb, Sherry (Mike) Lawson of Hanging Limb, Kyle (Jessica) McCormick of Monterey, Emily Horn of Monterey, and Vlad Leuscov on Cookeville.

Debra was preceded in death by her mother- Nancy Carol Bell; grandsons- James Kyle and Tyler Reynolds; and friend- George Custard of Atlanta, GA.

Services will be held at Calvary Freewill Baptist Church (East Fork Lane) in Hanging Limb. Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 from 4-8pm. The Funeral service will be on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at 1pm, officiated by Leonard Roy Walker and JB Harris. She will be laid to rest in F.A. Norrod Cemetery immediately following the service.

Pallbearers will include: Casey Wright, Austin Wright, Joshua Rogers, Kyle McCormick, Brandon Reagan, Troy Bowman, Riley Bruce Wright, and Cooper Brooks Wright.

Kenneth D. Brown

Kenneth D. Brown, age 80, was born on October 19, 1944 to Virgil and Edith Brown in Crossville, TN. He passed away on November 5, 2024 in Knoxville. He was a machinist and metal fabricator for Jay Olsen and Crossville Metal Fabrications. He then became a favorite bus driver for Cumberland County Schools for 29 years. He was loved by his community of kids, parents, family, and friends.

He is survived by his wife- Kay Brown; children- Scarlett Brown, Mike Brown, and Eddie Brown; brother- Ted Brown; 15 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and 8 nieces and nephews.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents- Virgil and Edith (Kerley) Brown; son- Glenn Rodgers; son-in-law- Bobby Brown; and siblings- Claudia Brown, Ed Brown, and Ovalee Campbell.

The public visitation will be held on Thursday evening at Crossville First Church of the Nazarene from 5-8pm.

David A. Eldridge

David A. Eldridge of Crossville, Tennessee, went to meet his Lord at the age of 73 on November 1, 2024. David was born on November 16, 1950 in Cumberland County, Tennessee to John and Oma Eldridge. He was raised with three siblings.

David was preceded in death by his father, John, brother and best friend, Doyle and nephew, Barton.

He is survived by his mother, Oma, son, Ryan (Renee), daughter, Christa White (Jason), brother, John (Mickey), sister, Diane Cameron (Jim), grandchildren, Stefan (Raela) and Lucy Widener, Chaz and Lucian Hahn, Rianna Wyatt (Ben), great-grandchild, River Wyatt, and many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request memorial contributions be made to Cumberland Good Samaritans, 281 10th Street, Crossville, Tennessee 38555. David spent many hours working at Good Sams, meeting others and helping in the community.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 5 from 11:00 to 12:00 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home with a service to follow. Pastor Braxton Eldridge (nephew) will officiate.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Life Care Center for their compassion, friendship, and loving care.

Finley Bainbridge Brown

Finley Bainbridge Brown, age 90, was born on October 2, 1934 to Arthur and Victorine Brown in Louisville, KY and they later made their home in New Albany, Indiana. He was a hospital chaplain and a church pastor for many years, including being a chaplain for the Bay Shore Yacht Club. He enjoyed sailing, fishing, woodworking, playing poker, painting with watercolors, photography, writing, and reading in comparative religions and mysteries.

He is survived by his son-in-law John Helms, his cat Betsy, and many friends, colleagues, and Uplands Village care partners.

Finley was preceded in death by his parents Arthur Finley and Victorine (Leist) Brown; his wife Carol Lee Blackburn; and his daughter Susanne Helms.

Dennis Eugene Adams

Dennis Eugene Adams was born on August 28, 1936 to Ralph and Amanda Dixon Adams in Crossville, TN. He passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024.

Dennis was married to the love of his life, Juanita Jean Lee Adams on July 16, 1960. They made their home in the Genesis and Slate Springs communities for 58 years. Dennis and Juanita had one son, Eugene (Tracy) Adams, and three grandsons- Jacob Adams, Braeden (Jamie) Adams, and Kyle Adams. Dennis had three great grandchildren that he thought hung the moon and stars and the feeling was mutual. He loved spending time with them and watching them grow, Saban Adams, he and his Pappie were the best of friends, Mason Adams and Sophia Adams. He is also survived by his sister- Eula (Harold) Keagle, brother- Danny (Gladys) Adams, sister-in-laws – Emma Adams and Marjorie (Nolan) Barnett, brother-in-laws – Dale Crockett and Ivan Lee, special friend- James Kindrick, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and loving wife, brothers- Dale, Donald, and Cleo Adams; sisters- Genese Adams, Wilda Gibson and Wanda Crockett; brother-in-laws – Kenny McDonald and Harold Gibson; and sister-in-law – Maudie Adams.

Dennis was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He enjoyed farming and having cattle and horses over the years. He will be greatly missed by all those who love him. Dennis was welcomed lovingly into the arms of Jesus surrounded by his loved ones.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 31, 2024, from 12 to 2:00 with service to follow officiated by Jerry Hassler. Others taking part in the service will be Mark Wright, Jacob Adams, Leslie Goss, and Freddy Conley. Burial will be in Slate Springs Cemetery with Harold Keagle officiating. Pallbearers: Eugene Adams, Gary Adams, Logan Adams, Tanner Jones, Trevor Gilbert and James Kindrick.

Meryl Michele Hutson

Meryl Michele Hutson (Long), age 69, went to be with Jesus on October 19, 2024. She was born on November 16, 1954 in Painesville, Ohio where she spent much of her life with her family and children before moving to Tennessee.

Her creative talents often led her to a career in floral design.  She had many passions including crafting, sewing, painting, cooking, horses, and gardening.  As an avid sports fan, you would find her cheering for The Chicago Bears, Tennessee Vols, and the Cleveland Indians.  Swinging clubs on a golf course was a hobby she enjoyed learning especially after working at Dorchester Golf Course.

She was a proud mother to her four children, who she loved to go visit and spend time with her grandchildren who affectionately called her “Mimi”.

She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Jim and Barbara Long, many special relatives, and her precious dogs Roo and Penny.

Meryl is survived by her loving companion of 9 years, Richard Hampton; her children-Shanna (Matt), Lissa (Kale), Bradon (Nicole), Trevor (Josie); her grandchildren-Preston, Emma, Ally, Kullyn, David, and Zoe; her brother Barry (Donna).

A small ceremony for family and close friends will be held on November 2, 2024 in Crossville, Tennessee.

Charles “Chuck” William Brunotte, Jr.

Charles “Chuck” Brunotte, Jr. was born in Tucson, Arizona on January 30, 1952 to Charles William Brunotte, Sr. and Mamie Lou (Officer) Brunotte, and passed away at his home on October 21, 2024.

Charles was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Brunotte, of Crossville; son Christopher William Brunotte (Lindsey) of Cookeville; daughter Nicole Pippin (Colin) of Cookeville; step-son Luke Houston (Kristen) of Pikeville; brother Claude Brunotte of Dayton, OH; along with 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents.

A Graveside Memorial service will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024 in Tom Davis Cemetery at 10:00am, Greg Davis officiating.
