There wasn't much he couldn't do, and if he didn't know how to do something, he would figure it out. He spent 28 years working in telecommunications, building a career through hard work, determination, and the kind of hands-on knowledge that simply can't be learned from a book. Toby was also a football coach and Vice President of the Brunswick Bulldogs, and later became involved with the AP Warriors. Toby had a deep love and respect for anything military and those who served. Whenever he could, he showed his gratitude by buying a veteran a coffee or a meal, or simply shaking their hand and saying, "Thank you for your service." Toby loved to fish, fast cars, dirt bikes, rock concerts, especially AC/DC. He was forever learning how to do something new. If he didn't know how to fix it, build it, or make it work, he would pull up YouTube and as he liked to say, he was "YouTube certifying himself." He was a master of so many things; he could build, repair, or fix anything, and somehow find a way when everyone else thought there wasn't one. Of everything Toby built, fixed, learned, coached, or accomplished during his life, nothing meant more to him than his family. He adored his sons, daughter in laws, and grandchildren and took tremendous pride in the family and life he and Rebecca built together. His family was not simply part of his life. They were his life. The words of 2 Corinthians 5:8, Psalm 23:4, and Ephesians 6:12-17 carry special meaning as his family says goodbye, particularly the image of putting on the whole armor of God. It is fitting for a man who spent so much of his life protecting, providing, fighting, fixing, teaching, and loving the people around him. ~ 2 Corinthians 5:8 | Psalm 23:4 | Ephesians 6:12-17 ~ ~ Ka-Pla!!
