Stanley Maxwell

Stanley Maxwell, 87, passed from this world into his heavenly home on October 25, 2026. He was born in Crossville, Tennessee, on August 12, 1939, to Wesley and Mary Bockman Maxwell. Stanley retired from Crossville Rubber Products after 40 years of service. He was a faithful deacon for many years. He was married to the love of his life, Lois Griffin Maxwell, for 57 years until her passing.

Stanley was a man who loved being outdoors. He enjoyed rabbit and squirrel hunting, fishing, camping, and boat rides. He loved gardening, and even more, he loved giving away what he grew. He took great pride in his yard and mowed as often as it took to keep it looking pretty. He waved at everyone who passed by, was always ready to help his neighbors, and never met a stranger. It was often said he could talk to a stick. Above all, Stanley cherished his family, and he never missed a birthday party or family get-together.

He is survived by his children, Tim (Charli) Maxwell and Teresa (Jody) Stevens; grandchildren, Noelle, Angel, Jonathan, and Jimmy; and great-grandchildren, Mia, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Ryan, J.D., Austin, Artey, Charlie, Magnolia, Sheeshta, Lilly, and Alex.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lois Griffin Maxwell; his parents, Wesley and Mary Maxwell; and his brother, James Maxwell.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM, with Johnny Reeves and David Smith officiating. Pallbearers for Stanley will be Jeremiah Robinson, Ken Smith, Ken Grover, Gerry Turner, Greg Adkins, Terry Christopher, and Jack Thomas. He will be interred at Big Lick Cemetery next to his beloved Lois immediately following the funeral.
