George Starr

George Sidney Starr was born on June 14,1936, in Yakima, WA and passed away August 3, 2025 in Sparta, TN.
George grew up on a dairy farm in Enumclaw, Washington, the 2nd of 6 children. His love for farming and carpentry continued throughout his life, but nothing compared to the love he had for his wife and children. He started his career as an inspector for The Boeing Co. in Washington, then moved to Winston, Oregon in 1965 where he retired from the Douglas County Parks Department. His journey on this earth was marked by his love, generosity, and compassion for others and his unwavering faith in God. He was always more than willing to share his faith. He was a gifted songwriter, saxophonist, singer, and poet. To know him was to love him. He enjoyed life to the fullest and will be missed by all.
