Garrett (Gary) Russell Laura Obituary (2018)

Garrett R. Laura (Gary), age 71, the beloved husband of wife, Eileen for 38 years. He was a United States Navy veteran who served our country during the Vietnam War. Gary loved to be involved in the community, especially the Crossville Lions Club where he was a member for 15 years, serving as president for 5 years. He was involved with the Cumberland County Playhouse and was a lifetime member of the Master Gardeners in Tennessee. Gary enjoyed volunteering at the Crossville Railroad Club. Gary and Eileen are also the district representatives to Tennessee School for the Blind for the state. He leaves family to cherish his memory: wife, Eileen Laura; sons, Timothy Laura (Trish) and Michael Moore (Louise); daughter-in-law, Paula Laura; grandchildren, Sean, Logan, and Tyler Laura, Ashley and Ryan Laura, Gabrielle, Brendan, and Alexandra Moore, all of Michigan; brother, Michael Laura of California; and sister, Darlene Poplawski of Texas; and several nieces and nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his son, James Russell Laura. A memorial service for Gary will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church 151 St. Alphonsus Way Crossville, TN 38555.
