Roberta Johnson

Elsie (Roberta) Johnson was born on September 26th, 1954 and passed away on August 15th, 2026 at the age of 71.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Alma, stepfather, Ralph Hodgin, brother, Bob Hutson, and brother-in-law, Doyle Carson, and nephews, Raymond Bilbrey and David Hawkins.

She is survived by husband, Don Johnson, children, Robin Choate (Richard Hosker), Adam Choate (Baileigh), Donald Johnson, Amber Mills, and grandchildren, Carter, Connor and Cannon Mills, and Rowan and Ember Choate.

She is also survived by brother, George Hutson (Priscilla), sisters, Rosemary Iles (Rory), Margie Smith (Don), Stella Roma and Eva Carson; nieces Gina Gray and Elsie Hutson, nephews, Jeff Bilbrey (Rhonda), Aric Hutson (Shawna), Richard Tinch (Kaitie Cook), Jason Tinch (Brandi Dysart), Chris Edington (Becky), Tyler Smith (Mollie) and several beloved great nieces and nephews.

Roberta worked as a real estate broker for many years in Cumberland County, starting with Realty World and also working in sales at The Gardens. She never met a stranger and enjoyed getting to know new people. She loved time in her garden and nature. She cherished her pets throughout the years.

She loved the ocean. She especially enjoyed good food and the company of good friends.

A memorial service for Roberta is planned for Saturday, October 3, at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, with visitation from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and services beginning at 11 a.m., with Richard Allen Tinch officiating.

Internment will be at Crossville City Cemetery at a later date.
