Carol Ann Lompart

February 21, 1946 -- May 24, 2026

Carol Ann Lompart, 80, of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee, passed away on May 24, 2026. Carol was born in Aurora, Illinois to John and Lucy Petersen. She was the third child of four girls and was loved and cherished by all who knew her.

Carol grew up and graduated high school in Geneva, Illinois. From there she attended Ellis Business College in Elgin, Illinois. After receiving her two-year degree, she became employed with United Airlines and worked for them in many capacities, as a Stewardess, Gate Agent, and also a Payroll Clerk. She loved her job with United Airlines and retired after 35 plus years. After realizing she wasn't ready to retire, she went to work for Dryer Medical Clinic in Aurora, Illinois and also worked for the Fairfield Glade Community after moving to Tennessee in 2013.

Carol met and fell in love with her husband, Greg. They were married for 30 years. Carol was a wonderful stepmother to Greg's children, Cara Heidgen and Joe Lompart. They have four grandchildren, Max Heidgen, Eleanor Heidgen, Rodin Lompart, and Clara Lompart. Carol was a terrific Grandmother and would always talk about them and praise their accomplishments whenever she could.

Carol was a devoted Aunt to all of her sister(s) children. She loved and cared for them as if they were her own. They all remember fond stories about her making table and chair sets for their children, writing a children's book, doing special things for all of them when she could. Every family should have an "Aunt Carol".

Carol loved children with all her heart and soul. She always taught the little ones Sunday School at every church that she attended.

Carol is survived by her husband, Greg; her stepchildren, Cara Heidgen and Joe Lompart; grandchildren, Max Heidgen, Eleanor Heidgen, Rodin Lompart, and Clara Lompart; sisters, Audra Reuter and Sue Berry; nephews, Dan Reuter, Rick Anselme, and Scott Berry; and nieces, Debra Music, Dawn Nelson, and Diane Royster.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lucy Petersen; sister, Toni Anselme; brother-in-laws, Gene Anselme and James Reuter; nephew, David Anselme; and niece, Kristin Rogers.

A celebration of Carol's life will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, beginning at 10:00am at First Presbyterian Church in Crossville, Tennessee. Friends and family are invited to share memories and pay their respects.
