Barry Keith Hargis

Barry Keith Hargis, 52, was born on November 10, 1965 to Billy and Fannie Lawson Hargis in Monterey, TN. He passed away on July 17, 2018. Barry loved to shoot pool and hang out with his family and friends around a bonfire. He also loved NASCAR.

He is survived by his parents, Billy and Fannie Lawson Hargis; children, Travis Hargis (Becky Cunningham) and Jesse Wyatt (Amanda Daniels); grandchildren, Gabriella Hargis, Gage Smith, Aliyah and Alexis Wyatt, Jesse Wyatt, Jr., and Benton, Madison, and Shaylee Daniels; brothers, Dennis Hargis; and sisters, Brenda Hargis, Mary Bergonzini, and Donna Dillon.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Doug Hargis; and Shirley Walker.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. A memorial service will also be held on Thursday following visitation with Tommy Harris officiating.

Mrs. Bernice Lou Burgess

Mrs. Bernice Lou Burgess, 87, of Crossville, TN passed away peacefully in her home on July 16, 2018.  Lou, as she preferred to be called, was the daughter of the late Walter Isaac and Lola Marie Houston of North Eaton, Ohio.

The funeral service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home.  Pastor Junior Pugh will be officiating.  Visitation will be held Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 12 pm – 2 pm.  Burial will follow immediately after the service at Akins Cemetery.

Lou was born September 1, 1930 in Linary Tennessee.  She became a professional beautician as an adult and owned her own beauty salon for many years.  Upon the arrival of her children, she decided to close up shop and turn her full love and attention to her family. Though she closed her business, she would remain the preferred hair stylist of many church members at the LaGrange Church of God in LaGrange, Ohio where she was a devout member for a large part of her life until moving back to Tennessee.

Lou married the love of her life, Arnold C. Burgess, on December 9, 1949 in Newport, Kentucky.   They recently celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary.  Her greatest wish was to go back in time with her husband and live life all over again.  Together.

Lou is survived by her loving husband, Arnold C. Burgess, 92; daughter Charlotte Goad of Crossville, TN; son and daughter-in-law Dan and Debbie Burgess of Lebanon, TN; brother Richard Houston; sister and brother-in-law Tom and Genny Duke; grandchildren Tonya and Fred Moore, Adam, Kimmy, Luke, Johnny, David and Chan Burgess, Kaity and Seth Guzman, Brent, Michael and Amanda Wright, Mandy and Charlie Morris; eleven beautiful great-grandchildren.

Lou is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lola Houston, her sister Helen, and brothers Ted, Wes, and Buck.

Homer Charles True

Homer Charles True, 77, was born on Tuesday, June 24, 1941 and passed away, Saturday, July 14, 2018 surrounded by his family.  He was preceded in death by his grandson, Cameron Adams.  He was the son of Luther and Mae True.  He attended Spring City Elementary School and Spring City High School.  Homer went on to enlist in the United States Marine Corp for 4 years with service in Cuba and Vietnam.  He was employed by the Tennessee Valley Authority as a Public Safety Officer and later served the town of Spring City as an officer on the Spring City Police Department.  He also owned a Bait and Tackle Store in Spring City named the “Fishing Shack.”

Homer married Gladys Mae Reed on December 1, 1969.  Homer has 6 daughters.  Beverly (Greg) Isenhour from Holden Beach, NC, Becky (Eddie) Moss from Richlands, NC, Sonya Hale from Spring City, TN, Lisa (Mickey) Orick from Spring City, TN, Kimberley (Bryan) Bayles, from Spring City, TN, and Beth (Tobey) Ashley from Evensville, TN.  Homer has 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Homer loved to hunt, fish, play golf and play Texas Hold ‘em.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Clair Baptist Church.

A memorial service for Homer will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 6:00 PM at St. Clair Baptist Church with Jim Didlake officiating. Family will receive friends prior to the service from 3:00 to 6:00 PM.

Wilma Jean McElhaney

Wilma Jean McElhaney, 77, was born on December 24, 1940 to Olean and Ruby Rector Gibson in Cumberland County, TN. She passed away on July 6, 2018. Wilma loved to be outside gardening, especially growing roses.

She is survived by her daughters, Sharlene Warner, Georgia (Michael) Davisson, Ruby (Bob) Miller, and Anna McElhaney; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Diane (Terry) Parham and Joyce (Earnie) Smith, both of Manchester, TN, and Anna (Steve) Bollinger and Bronda (Mark) Woody, both of Crossville, TN; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Olean and Reba Rector Gibson; and brothers, Thomas and Hotshot Gibson.

A celebration of life for Wilma will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 from 2:00 to 5:00 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home.

Ms. Lee Ann Luxford

Ms. Lee Ann Luxford (Spangenberg), of Monterey, TN, passed away on July 1, 2018.
Ms. Luxford was born in Greenville, Mississippi, to the late Homer and Betty Luxford,
and had been a resident of Putnam County for the past 20 years. She was an employee
of the United States Postal Service, and had worked at several capacities and locations,
throughout her dedicated career of 37 years.

Survivors include: Her husband, Phillip Spangenberg, brothers, Randy and John Luxford,
sister, Amy Luxford, a nephew, William Coppage and wife Missy, and niece, Amy Catherine Flynn.
She leaves behind a great nephew and niece, several cousins and many special friends.

Visitation with the family will be held at the Pleasant Hill Community Church on Saturday, July 7th, at 10:00am, followed by services in the chapel. A reception will be held after the services.

In lieu of flowers, the family would ask for donations to be made to the Pleasant Hill Community Church.

Ann Marie Braunschweig

Ann Marie Braunschweig, age 54, was born to Rudolph and Christine Swallows Tabor in East Peoria, IL on December 13, 1963 and passed away on June 21, 2018 in Crossville, TN. Ann was a cherished daughter and a beloved sister. She was a wonderful wife, loving mother, and adoring nana. Many were blessed to call her a niece, cousin, aunt, and friend. Ann was a follower of Christ and attended Cathedral in South Carolina and Revolution Church in Crossville, TN. She enjoyed spending time at the Battery with her husband in South Carolina, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Norman Braunschweig; children, Krystle Hawley (David), Ryan Braunschweig, and Melanie Gennaro; grandchildren, Thomas, Joseph, and Ariel Baker and Jacsen and Julius Gennaro; sisters, Pam Floyd (Steve), Vickie Turner (JR), and Melinda Bradley; and many, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends that love her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Christine Swallows Tabor.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 2:00 to 3:30 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services for Ann will also be held on Sunday following visitation at 3:30. Ann will be laid to rest near her parents in Green Acres Memory Gardens.

Jackie A. Key

Jackie A. Key, age 75, was born on December 24, 1942 in Monterey, Tennessee to Arles Key and Edna Rebecca Bilbrey Key. He passed away June 18, 2018 in Monterey, TN. Jackie had an honorable discharge from the United Sates Air Force in 1970. He worked for National Swage, a division of Crosby Group in Arkansas for 30 years.

He is survived by his children, Susan Pay (Bill) of Cabot, Arkansas, Scott Key (Elizabeth) of N. Little Rock, Arkansas, and Stacy Key (April) of Apache, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Melissa Lemay, Sheldon Key, Shelby Nash, Payten Taylor, Coryanne Morgan, and Amanda Williams; great grandchildren, Emma, Michael, Maddie, Madden, Hunter, Ayden, Ainslee, and Sophia; brother, Fred Key of San Angelo, Texas; and sisters, Linda Grimsley (Jack) of Greensburg, Kentucky, Rebecca Whittenburg (Odell) and Luanna Padgett, both of Crossville, TN.

Jackie was preceded in death by his parents, Arles Key and Edna Rebecca Bilbrey Key; three brothers, Rex Key of California, Randall Key of Monterey, Tennessee, and a baby brother of Monterey, Tennessee; three sister-in-laws, Elsie Key, Betty Key, and Doris Key; and brother-in-law, Ralph Padgett.

Graveside services for Jackie will be held at Welch Cemetery in Monterey, TN. Arrangements are incomplete at this time.

Rose Mozelle Randolph

Rose Mozelle Randolph, 89, was born on August 11, 1928 to the late Joseph D. and Beulah Cumby Stevens in Crossville, TN. She passed away on June 20, 2018.

She is survived by her stepson, Kenny Randolph; and several cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Robert Randolph.

Family will receive friends on Friday, June 22, 2018 from 1:00 to 2:00 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service for Mozelle will also be held on Friday following visitation at 2:00. She will be laid to rest in Green Acres Memory Garden.

MSG Howard Keith Bouchie

MSG Howard Keith Bouchie, 71, was born on April 15, 1947 to Donald Wayne and Mabel Mostellor Bouchie in Bertha, MN. He passed away on June 19, 2018. Howard loved wood working and classic cars.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Bouchie; son, Scott Alan Bouchie (Kelli Yennie); daughters, Patricia Lynn Bouchie, Jeanne Mae Bouchie Olmsted (Lee Olmsted), and Courtney Rae Bouchie; grandchildren, Dakota Rose Bouchie, Chance David Kuhn, Michael Alan Bouchie, Brendan Keith Bouchie, and Dylan Russell Bouchie; and sisters, Delores Bouchie Kosciolek, Nancy Bouchie Mollhoff, and Carol Bouchie Kelk.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald Wayne and Mabel Mostellor Bouchie; and brothers, Kenneth Bouchie, Dennis Bouchie, Duane Bouchie, and Jerry Bouchie.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, June 23, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. A memorial service will also be held on Saturday following visitation at 11:00 with Pastor Scott Johnson officiating.
