Aaliyah RhaeLyn Greene

Aaliyah RhaeLyn Greene, age 3, was born on January 28, 2015 to Charlie Andrew Greene and Orena Lynn Holt and passed away on July 29, 2018 in Crossville, TN. She was a lively, free-spirited little girl that lit up the room everywhere she went and brought joy to the hearts of everyone around her.

She is survived by her parents who were wrapped around her little finger, brothers- Devon Greene and Allen Holt; sisters- Kiara Greene, Victoria Houston, and Alexis Thompson; grand parents- Linda Rollins and Raymond Rollins; and aunts- Antoinette Daniel, Amanda Daniel Bliss, and Marsha McGann. She was preceded in death by her grandparents- Iva and Richard Holt.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 2, 2018, from 5 to 7 with a service to follow at 7 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Mr. Jon Kraus and Rev. Lee Atilano will officiate.

 

Kenneth Westervelt

Ken passed away on July 29 in his home in Crossville, TN and is now residing with his Lord and Savior. He was born in Burlington, IA but grew up in Silva, IL. Ken loved telling stories of growing up there. He was an avid golfer and played softball up until his health failed him a few years ago. He was a member of Dorton United Methodist Church. He married Debby Stonefield in 1989, his long time love and friend.

He is survived by his wife, Deb; stepdaughter, Jodi Bruno and husband Carl; step-granddaughter, Juila Bruno; his mother, Trudy; and brother, Jim. His oldest brother, Ron, and father, Ramon, are also deceased.

Crossville Memorial is handling his cremation. There will be a memorial reception and dinner at Dorton United Methodist Church, on Sunday, August 5th at 1 p.m. Memorial donations may be sent to Dorton UMC, P.O. Box 1012, Crossville, TN 38555.

Barbara Porter

Barbara Porter, 90, was born on January 18, 1928 to James and Elzora Rogers in Chicago, IL and passed away in Crossville, TN on July 21, 2018. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and loved her animals.

She is survived by her children, Stephen Porter (Marian), Beth Edens (Mark), and Lisa Warburton (Wally); 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and brother, James Rogers (Shirley).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Porter; children, Richard, Jon, and Rob Porter; and brother, Gerald Rogers (Jody).

Eric Ramon Carl, Jr.

Eric Ramon Carl, Jr. was born on May 5, 1965 in Baltimore, MD to Eric Carl, Sr. and the late Virginia Carl. He passed away on July 24, 2018. Eric enjoyed reading and hanging out with friends by the pool. He loved going to church and was a ham radio operator.

He is survived by his father, Eric Carl, Sr. (Marjorie); wife, Julie Carl; children, Kim Johnson, April Guelli (Frank), Michael Carl (Brittney), and Marissa Carl (Tim); grandchildren, Emmalyn, Cameron, Lyla, Logan, Ian, and Jeremiah.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Carl.

Family will receive friends at Crossville First United Methodist Church on Thursday, July 26, 2018 from 1:00 to 2:00. A memorial service will also be held on Thursday following visitation at 2:00.

Martha Jo Wyatt Hall

Martha Jo Wyatt Hall was born December 11, 1937 in Cumberland County, TN to Riley and Beaulah Wyatt. She passed away on July 24, 2018.

She is survived by her son, Michael (Pam S.) Hall; daughters, Pamela M. Hall and Lisa (Ken) Miller; grandchildren, Lora (Michael) Simpkins, Lindsey (Shane) Roberts, Joshua (Kelley) Miller, Kasey (Bo) Smith, and Darby Hall; great grandchildren, Gracie and Mattie Buck, Bentley and Paisley Roberts, Hallie Jo Miller, and Parker Smith; brother, Franklin (Shirley) Wyatt; and sisters, Lozena (Aubrey) Barnwell, Anna (Estel) Elmore, Linda (Joe) Sauro, Peggy (Gene) Davidson, and Janice Littrell.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Riley and Beaulah Wyatt; husband, Clarence E. Hall; great grandson, Luke Riley Miller; son-in-law, Ronnie Hall; and sister, Billie Jean Hall.

Family will receive friends on Friday, July 27, 2018 from 11:00 to 1:00 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service for Martha will also be held on Friday following visitation with Mark Hall officiating. She will be laid to rest in Tolletts Chapel Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Josh Miller, Bo Smith, Michael Simpkins, Jacob Jones, Shane and Bentley Roberts, and honorary pallbearer, Parker Smith.

Rozena Hoyle

Rozena Hoyle, 90, was born on June 7, 1928 to Samuel and Bessie Harris in Erwin, TN. She passed away on July 21, 2018.

She is survived by her daughter, Theresa Rector (George); grandson, George Russell Rector (Lora); great grandchildren, Stephen Foust (Elizabeth), Jonathan Foust (Loleata), and William Rector; great great grandchildren, Xander, Lillian, and Malora Foust; brothers, Walter and David Harris; and sisters, Macie Adkins and Derothia Asberry.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russell Hoyle; brothers, Jesse Harris (Lucille) and Isaac Harris; and sister, Lois Angel.

Family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service will also be held on Wednesday following visitation at 2 with Scott White officiating. She will be laid to rest in Crossville City Cemetery.

Emily Annette Cowart

Annette D. Cowart, Age 84 of Crossville, TN passed away peacefully Friday July 20, 2018. She was born May 1, 1934 in Dekalb County, GA to the late Roy and Ada Dixon. Mrs. Cowart was preceded in death by her husband George Cowart, Sr. and her brother Steve Dixon.

Mrs. Cowart is survived by her sons George Cowart, Jr. and Joe Cowart; her daughters Jan Boal (Larry) and Pam Graves (Tony); five grandchildren LJ (Larry Jr.), Lauren and Leslie Boal, Clayton and Logan Graves; eight great grandchildren Lukas Gharapetian and Leia Lovett, Joshua, Eden, Hannah, Haddie, Levi, and Selah Boal; and sister Jerrie Hollingsworth.

Annette attended Murphy High School in Mobile Alabama and graduated from Southwest High School in Atlanta, GA. She married George Cowart on October 26, 1957 in Ben Hill, Ga. She was a homemaker and masterful cook, loved cooking a big meal, and loved having her family and friends gathered around her and “putting their feet under her table”. She was an avid seamstress and reader. She loved the Lord, studied His word, and was an active church member of Meridian Baptist. She was a wonderful wife and loving mother. Annette was loved greatly by many, and will be missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at Parrott Funeral Home in Fairborn, GA from 5 to 7. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at 10:30 in Greenwood Cemetery. A memorial service will held at Parrott Funeral Home at 12:30 with a reception to follow at 1:30 at Wendell Coffee Golf and Event Center.

Mary Frances Tollett

Mary Frances Tollett, age 92, was born April 13, 1926 to Earl Wilkey and Alice Harris in Crossville, TN and passed away in her home with her loving family around her on July 20, 2018.

She is survived by four sons- Harold Tollett (Mildred), Kenneth Tollett (Sylvia), Richard Tollett, Teddy Tollett (Tonia); daughters- Sharon Ault, Deborah Clingan, and Tammy Tollett; 12 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and sister- Marie Brady. She is preceded in death by her husband-Roy Tollett, parents Earl Wilkey and Lockie Bruce, and brother- Howard Green.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 22, 2018, from 6 to 9 at Crossville Memorial. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 23 at the funeral home at 11:00 with burial to follow in Big Lick Cemetery.

Kenneth H. Purvis

Kenneth H. Purvis, 83, was born on May 19, 1935 to Russell and Ollie Purvis. He passed away to Heaven on July 20, 2018 after a 10 month long illness. He was a Crye Leike real estate agent. Kenneth worked for Chrysler Air Temp for 20 years in Dayton, Ohio, and he retired from A.O. Smith Corporation after 20 years. He moved to Fairfield Glade, TN in June 1998 and was a member of the Church of God.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Wanda Purvis; daughter, Sherri Elledge, husband Jay; sons, Jerry Purvis, wife Mary Beth and Paul Purvis, wife Joyce Ann; grandchildren Chris Purvis, wife Linda; Lisa Purvis Ogg, husband Colin, Maxim Reid Purvis, and Zachary Taylor Purvis; great grandchildren, Michael, Kaylee, Bella, and Samuel; brothers, Charles Purvis, wife Etta; Robert Purvis, wife Sally; and Gary Purvis, wife Cheryl; sister- Roberta and many friends and clients of Fairfield Glade and Crossville, TN.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Ollie Purvis; brother Ewell Purvis; and brother-in-law David.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services for Kenneth will also be held on Tuesday following visitation at 7. He will be laid to rest in Machpelah Cemetery in Mount Sterling, KY.

Kenneth Allen Soncrant

Kenneth Allen Soncrant was born on 28 April 1958 and passed peacefully in his Crossville, TN home 16 July 2018. He is reunited with his Father Harry and Sister Bobbi. He will forever be remembered by his loving Mother Janet, Step-Father Ted Varney, Brother Kevin and Sister Stacy as well as myriad family members and friends.

Kenny lived a life of Honor and Service to his family, community and friends. Kenny proudly served in the United States Navy, was employed by Pizza Hut and as Director for Arts and Crafts for POA at Lake Tansi Community Center. He enjoyed cooking, painting and calling Bingo.
