Memorial services for Asa Kelley, age 90, of Crossville, TN will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Brady Mountain Wedding Event and Venue, 583 Hebbertsburg Rd. Crab Orchard, TN.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Kelley.

BJ Davidson

BJ Davidson, age 90, was born on January 8, 1930 to Charlie and Ethel Hall Davidson in Hebbertsburg, TN. He passed away on January 11, 2020. BJ enjoyed being outside gardening and riding horses. He also enjoyed mowing the lawn, weed eating, and small engine repair.

He is survived by his children, Linda Sherrill (Willard), Gary Davidson (Dale), Shelia Yates (Dan), and Jerry Ingram; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; and siblings, Ellie Webb (Johnny) and Dallas Davidson.

He is preceded in death by his parents; children, Debbie Sherrill, Paul Davidson, and Scotty Ingram; grandchildren, Jamie, Michael, and Ken Sherrill; great grandchild, Johnathon Young; and siblings, Charlie, Floyd, and Ira Davidson.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 2 – 3 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home with services to follow.

Bobby Gene Davenport

Bobby Gene Davenport, 80, was born on December 9, 1939 in Harlan, KY to the late Dallas and Lucille Nelson Davenport. He passed away on January 7, 2020.

He is survived by his wife, Lindola Davenport; children, Bruce Davenport (Jeanny), Allison Powers (John), Harral Davenport, Mitchell Davenport (Kim), Judy Davenport, and Lisa Dishman; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; and sister, Juanita Whitaker.

He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Virginia Lee Davenport; son, Jackie Davenport; siblings, Roy, J.D. and Marie; and son-in-law, Stuart Dishman.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, January 12, 2020 from 12 to 2 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow. He will be laid to rest in Haleys Grove Cemetery.

Stephen Paul Dietz

Stephen Paul Dietz, 67, of Cookeville, passed away Saturday, December 7th, 2019 surrounded by family at CRMC after a short illness.

Stephen was preceded in death by parents, Anna Laura (Brown) Dietz and Shelah Paul Dietz, wife (and mother of their two daughters), Susie (Wollford) Dietz, and several aunts and uncles.

He is survived by brother, Dr. Michael W. Dietz (Stacey Lyn Dietz) of Cookeville, two daughters, Jordan Leigh Dietz and Taylor Marie Dietz, both of Knoxville; uncle, Lex Dyer Dietz of Cookeville; nephew, Sean Michael Dietz (Allison) of Knoxville; grandchildren, Ryleigh and Aubrey; and many cousins.

Stephen was born January 29th, 1952 in Cookeville where he graduated from Cookeville High School in 1970. After graduating from John A. Gupton College in Nashville, TN, Stephen spent most of his early career at funeral homes in Knoxville, TN and surrounding areas before relocating to Chattanooga and finishing his career. He retired back to Cookeville in 2017. He was an avid fisherman, staunch supporter or UT athletics and was raised in the Methodist Church.

Stephen had chosen cremation, and while there will be no formal visitation, there will be a graveside service held on February 15, 2020 at 1:00 PM in Cookeville City Cemetery with interment to follow.

Crossville Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Paul T. Ondako

Paul T. Ondako

June 11, 1929 – January 4, 2020

Paul T. Ondako went to be with our Lord at age 90 after five months of cancer.

Paul was born in Midway, PA son of the late Paul Ondako Sr. and Ida (Parnaby) Ondako. Paul served in the U.S. Air Force for four years, three of which he played in the Air Force Band in Alaska. After returning to the States, he worked for a commercial airline for 30 years. Following his retirement to Crossville, Paul played in the Oak Ridge, Harriman, and Crossville Community Bands.

Paul is survived by his loving wife, Mary; son, Jay deLima (Ginger) and granddaughter, Kady, all of Alaska and several cousins; two dear nieces, Joanne Caudill (Bill) of Somerset, KY their children and grandchildren and Susan Gerber (Ray) of San Diego, CA their children and grandchildren; special extended family, Stephanie Williams (Jeremy) of Montgomery, TX and their children.

Paul was a faithful and active member of Central Baptist Church, Crossville, for 25 years. The funeral will be held at Central Baptist Church on Wednesday, January 8. Viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with the funeral service following at 11 a.m. Burial will be at City Cemetery following the service.

May 26, 1938 – January 4, 2020

Age 81, of Crossville, TN formerly from Grosse Ile, MI, passed away January 4, 2020.  Beloved wife of Ronald R. Ebel. Preceded in death by her father, Jess W. Williams, Sr.  Survived by her mother, Gladys M. Williams and brother, Jess (Dianne) W. Williams, Jr.  Cherished aunt to Mary Ann (Rick) Nicholas and Emily (David) Price.  As a former 4th grade teacher, Nancy was passionate about education and touched the lives of many children.  Her talents included painting, tennis and music.  She loved hiking and caring for her birds.  A memorial is planned for April 2020 at the First United Methodist Church of Crossville, TN.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church or to the American Cancer Society.

Harold “Austin” Edington Sr.

Harold “Austin” Edington Sr., age 73, was born on May 15, 1946 to Gaither and Lissie Fean Etherton Edington in Spring City, TN and died on January 3, 2020 in Knoxville, TN. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator on our Tennessee Highways. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and working on old cars; but he found the most joy in spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife- Wanda Headrick Edington, children- Patricia Ann Eaton (Jeff), Pamela Michelle Potter (Bryon), and Harold Austin Eddington Jr. (Jennifer); grandchildren- Derrick and Keshia Eaton, Lynn and Allen Claar, Darren Nail, Laci and Jaten Eddington; great grandchildren- Kaleb, Braylee, Caylee, Austin, Aalieha, Gracie, and Eli; and siblings- Kenny and Robert Edington and Thelma Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter- Melissa Ann Eddington, and siblings- John, Jim, Ed, Bill, Gene and Naomi Edington.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 6, 2020, from 11 to 1 with the service to follow with Mark Cooley officiating. Burial will be in Haley’s Grove Cemetery.

Virginia Lee Blaylock

Virginia Lee Blaylock, age 81, was born on March 1, 1938 to Homer and Mary Lou Robinson Parsons in Crossville, TN. She passed away at her home on January 1, 2020. Virginia loved to be outside going fishing, planting flowers, and gardening. Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye, and she loved spending time with them.

She is survived by her children, Connie Bowman (Gary Glen), Glenda Maynard, and Carolyn Howard (Buddy); grandchildren, Nicole Dabbs (Russell), Trevis Maynard, Christopher Howard (Brittany), and Rodney Howard (Megan); and great grandchildren, Taylor Rayne, Rylee Skye, Austin, Jayda, Laila, Launa, and Mia.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Linvil Blaylock; and siblings, JB Theodore, Tom, Ralph, Jimmy, Betty, Barbara, and Judy.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, January 5, 2020 from 1 to 2 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will also be held on Sunday following visitation with Bro. Olen Wooden officiating. She will be laid to rest in Creston Cemetery.

Andrew Scott Pugh Jr.

Andrew Scott Pugh Jr., age 30, was born on June 7, 1989 to Andrew and Connie Keyes Pugh in Crossville, TN and passed away on December 29, 2019 in Oak Ridge, TN.

He is survived by his parents, siblings- Tammy Matthews (Johnny), Valerie Blaylock, Travis Keyes and Amy Pugh; and three children- Ethan Scott Johnson Pugh, Andrew Scott Pugh 111, and Crimson Jase Pugh.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents- Casto and Daffie Pugh and Walter and Blanche Keyes, aunts- Joyce Haney and Earlene Pryor; uncles- Doug Haney, Jack, Cordell, and Randy Pugh, and Tolbert Pryor; and his godmother- Peggy Keck.

The family will receive friends on January 1, 2020 from 5 to 8 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. The service will be on January 2, 2020 at 11:00 with burial in Pugh Cemetery.

Warren Bruce Maples

Warren Bruce Maples, the Tomato Man, age 73, was born on April 6, 1946 in Clinton, TN and passed away on December 27, 2019. He was a truck driver, transporting produce all over the country. He enjoyed working and sold produce to the community. A loving man, he leaves behind a legacy of being forgiving and non judgmental. A family man, he leaves a gap in the lives of his children and grandchildren. He was loved by everyone- family and friends.

He is survived by his children- Amanda French (Keith), Mary Ridgeway, and Tony Puente; grandchildren- Sarah, Eric, William, TJ, Hunter, Samantha, and Bentley; siblings- Roy Maples (Barbara), Gail Fish (Ricky), Fay Campbell, and Dorthy David. He is preceded in death by his parents- Lee and Adean Ollice and siblings- Ervin, Jimmy, and Ray Ollice.

The family will receive friends at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home on Monday, December 30, 2019, from 6 to 8 Central. The funeral service will be Tuesday, December 31, 2019, at 12:00 Central with Johnny Goldston officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his parents in Forester Cemetery in Oliver Springs, TN.
