John “Jack” Eisenlord

John (Jack) B Eisenlord passed away peacefully at home on November 20, 2021 after a short illness. He was born to Elsie and John Eisenlord of Pontiac, MI on September 3, 1929. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Elva Blymyer of Midland, MI and Shirley Haller of Coleman, MI, and son Kenneth. He is survived by his wife Geraldine (Ulanowicz, formerly of Midland, MI), son David (Ann), daughter Joan (Tom) Powers, and son James, along with 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Jack graduated with a degree in Physics from Michigan Technological University and served in the Air Force in Morocco. He worked for more than 30 years for the Fisher Body division of General Motors in Michigan, New York, and Ohio.

Jack had many hobbies including hunting, playing bridge, cooking, and bread baking, but his true passions were golf and fishing. He was an avid reader, and one could usually find him with a book in his hand if there wasn’t already a gold club or fishing pole there. He traveled extensively wit his wife, his most recent trip being to Australia and New Zealand with his wife Gerry and son Jim.

Jack was a devoted husband and father. He loved children, and was adored by his own children and grandchildren. He rarely met a person he didn’t like, the same can be said of cookies.

This wise, gentle man will be remembered fondly and will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.

A mass of Christian burial will be held from 10:00am to 11:00am on December 14, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 7503 Peavine Road, Crossville, TN, USA.

Evelyn Wilson Stone

Evelyn Stone, 86, of Crossville, TN passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021.

She was a seamstress for most of her life and enjoyed sewing and creating new patterns. She loved canning and shopping for bargains at estate sales while spending time with her family.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Sadie Lewis Wilson; husband J.C. Stone; daughter Lorene Stone; grandson Scott Myers; great grandson Sawyer Frady; sisters Alice Reed and Irene (Milo) Wyatt.

She is survived by her daughters Cindy (Larry) Myers, Loretta Warner, and Juanita Stone; grandchildren Jason (Beverly) Warner and Molly (Jesse) Frady; great grandchildren Aidan and Austin Warner, Beckett, Weston, and Titus Frady; and several nieces.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 2:00pm, with Don Bell officiating. She will be laid to rest in Thomas Springs Cemetery. Crossville Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mary Alice Wilson Reed

Born May, 5, 1937. Departed this life on December 4, 2021.

Mary Alice is preceded in death by her parents Tom and Sadie Wilson; youngest sister Irene Wyatt; oldest sister Evelyn Stone, whom met Mary Alice on that glorious journey to heaven just 1 hour after Mary Alice passed.

Mary Alice is survived by her special friend and companion of 16 years, James Nicholson; daughter Brenda Bank (Jack); grandchildren Tanya Sapp (Nick), Tiffany Handley (Steven), and Brandi Banks (Curtis); great grandchildren Cody, Noah, Laylia, and Kerri; along with many nieces and nephews and many lifelong friends.

Mary Alice was a member of the Eastern Star for 52 years. She retired from Murfreesboro City schools after 25 years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, bluegrass music, and dancing.

To know her was to love her. She leaves behind the best memories, funny stories, and best advice, to carry on to many generations to come.

Robert “Bob” Bryce Hinch

Bob Hinch, 73, of Crossville, passed away December 2, 2021. He was born May 3, 1948 in Crossville, TN to William Sr and Johnnie Miller Hinch. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served in Vietnam where he received a Purple Heart.

He is survived by his daughters, Janel Mallard and Haley Hatcher, both of Waverly, TN, and Trina Hinch of Nashville, TN; brother Bill Hinch Jr of Crossville; and grandchildren Ansley Graves, Ketron Graves, Tucker Rawlings, and Avery Kate Rawlings.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Margaret Hinch Smith, and brother James Hinch.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 11a-12p at Pomona United Methodist Church followed by a Celebration of Life service at 12p. For anyone wishing to view the service virtually, a livestream will occur at the above-listed service time and can be viewed on the Pomona United Methodist Church Facebook page.

Samuel Edwin Sweet

Sam Sweet, age 70, of Crossville, TN left his earthly home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 2, 2021. Sam was born July 5, 1951, to the late Glenn and Marguerite Forbes Sweet. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Glenda Imken. He is survived by his loving wife Lacy; daughters Charity (Ed) Neely, Paula (Ben) Rosato, Tamara (Wilson) Doiron, Angie (Robert) Donahue, Tasha (Joe) Wilson, Pamela (Chuck) Barker, and Shana (Sage) Lamoreaux; sons Samuel (Tonya) and Steven (Jami) Sweet. Sam was also blessed with 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters Carol Edwards, Mildred Moore, Marsha Shoemaker, and Nany (Butch) Shires. He enjoyed singing, sharing the word, and ministering to others. Sam will be remembered for his love of his family and the Lord.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, December 6, 2021 at 2:00pm at Old Fashion Independent Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 12-2pm. Burial will follow at Leffle Webb Cemetery.

Arrangements are entrusted to Crossville Memorial Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the funeral home for burial expenses.

Linda Ruth Brown

Linda Brown, 72, was born on February 24, 1949 to William and Dessie Norrod in Livingston, TN. She passed away on November 30, 2021.

She is survived by her children Donna Jenkins (Bobby), Melinda Holt (Billy), and Tony Brown (Jennifer); Grandchildren Donovan, Rachel, Bobby, Joshua, and Charlie; and her siblings Edward Norrod, Bill Norrod, and Leda Welch.

She was preceded in death by her parents William and Dessie Hargis Norrod; and her siblings LuAnna Norrod, Lucy Ella Lewis, Benjamin Franklin Norrod, Kermit Norrod, Reba Joan Corbett, Lillian and Leion Norrod, David Norrod, and Buddy Norrod.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021. Place and time have yet to be determined.

Malinda Jo Iles

Malinda Jo Iles, age 60, was born on August 7, 1961 to Billy and Jolene Garrison in Crossville, TN and passed away at her home on November 30, 2021.

She is survived by her husband Rory Iles; her mother Jolene Garrison; her son Derrick Scott Webb; her daughter Melissa Nicole Webb; and a multitude of grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her father Billy Garrison.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Crossville First Freewill Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 5-7pm with the service immediately following at 7pm. Burial will be at Crossville City Cemetery.

Thomas Joe Gibson, Jr

Thomas Joe Gibson, Jr., was born in Texas on February 12, 1960 and passed away on November 24, 2021 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Gibson and Garland ‘Jean’ Gibson and a brother Jimmy Doc Gibson. He is survived by a daughter Niki Ray of Crossville and a son Elijah Gibson of Oneida, TN. Three grandchildren Joseph Ray, Stetson Ray, and Emma Rose Ray. He is also survived by sisters Euretha (Skip) Roberts and Darla Reed of Crossville and brothers Larry Gibson of Monterey and J.T. Gibson of Crossville along with six nieces and one nephew.

He loved the outdoors and children and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Crossville Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of the cremation.

Cody Justice Selby

Cody Selby, age 35, of Crossville Tennessee passed on from this earth on Tuesday, November 23rd 2021.

Cody was your all-American kind of guy who loved collecting guitars and strumming music on them. And of course, it does not stop there, he really enjoyed some lake days by casting out his reel and going fishing, whether from the shore line or off a boat not much more was better or more relaxing than a good day by the water. He was a great father, son, brother and friend. We, your family and friends will forever miss you Cody.

Burl Brinson

Burl Wendall Brinson was born on January 20, 1942 in Fort Meade, Florida.He went home to be with his Lord and Savior on November 19, 2021 in Crossville, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents James Roscoe Brinson and Luna Eddings Brinson and his sister Joanna Brinson.
He is survived by his wife, Janeil Taylor Brinson of Crossville, Tennessee; his daughters, Jaton Brinson Fowler (Greg) of Crossville, Tennessee and Kimberly Brinson Clark (Willie) of Brush Creek, Tennessee; his brother, Rev. Russell Brinson of Cleveland, Tennessee; four grandsons, one granddaughter and two step-granddaughters; four great-grandsons and seven great-granddaughters and one great-great-granddaughter.
He leaves behind a Godly legacy and an example of Christianity to all who knew him.

The family will receive fiends on Monday, November 22, 2021, at Crossville First Freewill Baptist Church from 10 to 12 with a service to follow. Bro. Mike McCoy will officiate and burial will be in Big Lick Cemetery.
