Ralph Lee Galloway

Ralph Galloway, age 85, was born on December 8, 1938 to Earnest and Leona Galloway in Wise, VA. He passed away on October 9, 2024 in Crossville, TN.

He is survived by his wife- Wanda (Manry) Galloway and his brother- Wayne Galloway.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents- Earnest Lee and Leona (Ball) Galloway.

Services will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1:30pm, with the service to follow at 2:30pm, Randall Dye officiating. He will be laid to rest in Green Acres Memory Gardens immediately following the service.

Mary Joyce Adams

Joyce Adams, age 80, was born on March 16, 1944 in Colorado Springs, CO and passed away on October 6, 2024 in Cookeville, TN. She was a dedicated student and earned her Masters Degree, and became a probation officer in Colorado Springs. She loved gardening, but books were her passion! She loved to read and collect them. Joyce was a member of Dripping Springs Baptist Church and loved her church family.

She is survived by her children- Jill Justice (Donnie), Joann Jestice (John), and John Adams (Betty); grandchildren- Tara Williams (EJ), RydR Cook(Jessica), Katrisha Guffey (Mike), Olivia Jestice, Tanya Campbell (Michael), John Jestice III (Martha), John Adams, and Jade Adams; 18 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and siblings- Kay Moore (Thomas) and Richard Jackson.

She is preceded in death by her mother- Mary Susan Payne Jackson, husband- Larry Thomas and sisters, Peggy Vidmar and Linda Brown.

There will be a memorial service at Dripping Springs Baptist Church on October 13 at 5:00 pm with Pastor Mark Hall officiating.

Stephen Robert Tindall

Stephen Tindall, age 77, was born on October 29, 1946 to Robert and Mary Tindall in Bedford, IN. He passed away on September 30, 2024 at his home in Crossville, TN. Stephen enjoyed talking on the phone with his friends, playing the harmonica, fishing, gardening, and just loved people and making them laugh.

He is survived by his wife- Tammy (Holmes) Tindall; son- Brian Tindall; Daughter- Connie Tindall; 5 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; brother- Rick (Renee) Tindall; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents- Robert Edward and Mary Florence (Haverly) Tindall; first wife- Judy Tindall; and sister- Barbara Tindall.

The Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home at 11:00, Jimmy Wright, Dexter Smith, & Caleb Norris officiating. His remains will be put to rest in Pomona Cemetery immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the charity of your choosing.

Chester Joe “Duck” Parks

1954 – 2024

Chester Joe Parks age 70, of Crossville TN passed away peacefully on October 3rd 2024. 

Duck is proceeded in death by his parents Ione and Chester Parks; Wife Jody Parks; Brothers Marshall (Butch) Parks, Jasper Rufus and wife Faye Parks; Sister and brother in law Donna Faye and Kurt Schaar; and Step daughter Cindy.

Duck is survived by his daughter Sarah Jo Howard; grandchildren Emma and Sawyer Howard; Step daughter Michelle Belcher and step son Tom Morrow; Brothers Benjamin (Benny) Parks and wife Shirley; Harvey (Oopy) Parks and wife Donna; Sister Susan Coffman and husband Donald; and a host of nieces and nephews. 

Duck was one of a kind to say the least, he had several hobbies. Fishing, camping anything to do with nature. He spent most weekends at the Crossville flea market buying and trading, sharing stories with all the friends he made each weekend. Anyone he met throughout his life he impacted in some way. 

Anne Elizabeth Monday

Anne Elizabeth (Copley) Monday, 88, of Crossville, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024. Anne was a dearly loved mother and a devoted follower of Christ. She will be greatly missed. Anne is survived by her daughters Kelli Monday, Wendy Monday and husband JT Spangler, granddaughter Kassidy Sommer, grandson Wulf Hubert Monday, great granddaughters Karsyn Shoemake and Gracie Shoemake, and brother Ed Copley and wife Betty. She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, James Hubert Monday, son James Jeffrey Monday, parents H.P. Copley and Maude Bertram Copley, and brothers Holland Keith Copley, James W. Copley and Billie Copley. Anne will be laid to rest at Andy Smith Cemetery in Manson, TN.

IrisRuby Rain Goddard

IrisRuby Rain Goddard was born on August 12th, 2024 at 12:23pm. Angels carried her Home to Heaven on September 29th, 2024 at 1:41am. Her Mama, Daddy, and sisters lovingly called her MunchMunch or Baby Iris. She loved playing with her Daddy’s beard, snuggling with Mama, and grinning at her sisters. She loved getting kisses, being held and holding Mama and Daddy’s fingers. She was on this side of Heaven for just 48 days but those days were full of love, snuggles, grins, and giggles. IrisRuby Rain was pure perfection.

IrisRuby Rain is loved beyond measure. All her family will forever hold a piece of her in their heart.

Services will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at Smiths Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 12-2pm with the service to follow at 2pm, Tracy Blankenship officiant. She will be laid to rest in Smiths Chapel Cemetery immediately following the service.

William Ford and Betty Jean Ford

William Ford, age 64, was born on June 17, 1960 to Arlie and Martha Irene Lee Ford in Crossville, TN and passed away in Crossville on September 18, 2024. He spent most of his life working in the rock quarries and enjoyed hunting, guns, and his dog, Cricket. He was survived by his wife, Betty Jean Ford. Betty Jean Ford, age 60, was born on April 27, 1964 in Sparta, TN and passed away in Knoxville, TN on September 25, 2024. She enjoyed the needlecraft of embroidery. She and Bill loved spending daily life with each other, but fishing together was what they loved most.

William and Betty were preceded in death by their parents, his brother, David Lee Ford, her sister, Fannie and two nephew-in-laws- Thomas and David Littzi. They are survived by their nieces- Susan Littzi (Charles), LeeAnn Littzi and Melissa Littzi.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, from 12 to 2 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home with a service to follow. Ralph Reagan will officiate and burial will be in Stansbury Cemetery.

Floyd Lee Cordell

Floyd Cordell, age 68, was born on October 14, 1955 to the late Robert and Edna (Kirby) Cordell in Crossville, TN. He passed away on September 24, 2024 in Athens, TN. He was a truckdriver for 40+ years. His favorite hobbies were camping, riding motorcycles, four-wheeling, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife- Tina (Coon) Cordell; children- Tisha (John) Whitaker and Johnny Cordell; grandchildren- Savannah Conde, Dylan Whitaker, Cody Whitaker, Shayli Whitaker, and Hazel Fields; great grandchildren- Lileeanna Hajek, Gracie Whitaker, Graciana, Sophia, Lexi, and Marie; brothers- James (Nancy) Cordell and Jody (Eva) Marshall; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Sarah Guess, Ann McFarland, and Faye Brown.

Services will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12-2pm, with the Memorial to follow at 2pm, James Cordell, Jr. officiant.

Janis Marie Wyatt Gore

Janis Marie Wyatt Gore, left for Heaven on Saturday , September 21, 2024. She had celebrated her 93rd birthday on June 28th.

She was the daughter of Rev. James R. Wyatt and Nellie Mae Davis Wyatt, of Waco, Texas.

In 1950 she married Floyd Gore, and they took up residence in Crossville in 1951. She was a homemaker most of her life, but sometimes worked as a seamstress.  She was of a quite nature, but had a wonderful sense of humor. She was solely dedicated to her family and seeing to their happiness.  

She raised 2 daughters, Linda Gore Bennett, of Crossville, and Carolyn Gore Thompson,  of Peachland, NC.

Grandchildren were her joy. Jason Dyer and Jeff Dyer of Crossville, Jill Dyer Green of Knoxville , April Thompson Hoover of North Carolina. Granddaughter,  Sabrina Thompson Mullis of North Carolina  passed away in 2019.

The great grandchildren could do no wrong! Jace Dyer, Lucas Dyer, Bailey Dyer, and Beau Dyer of Crossville. Duncan Green, Knoxville, and Jake Green,  Boston, Mass. Callie Thompson, Nathan Fulks, and Makayla Bishop of N C. , and Michael Bishop of S.C.

This year she welcomed her first great-great grandchild, Jax Dyer. We had 5 generations together. 

Services will be held Sunday, September 29th at the Mayland Church of the Nazarene . Visitation at 2:00 and service at 3:00. Burial will follow in the Mayland Cemetery. Her grandson, Rev. Jason Dyer, will be officiating the service. 

We are so thankful for the time we had her here with us. Even 93 years was not long enough.

Charlotte Katarina Nazelrod Georgia

Charlotte Georgia, age 75, was born on August 3, 1949 in Weinheim, Germany. She passed away on September 21, 2024 in Crossville, TN. For many years, she ran a daycare in her home and even became a county inspector for in-home daycares. She then went on to work with Social Services specializing in cases with special needs children. Her favorite hobbies were traveling and drawing.

She is survived by her husband-David Georgia; son- Michael Nazelrod; grandchildren- Hannah Raneta and Emma Rae; and siblings- Barbara Doyle, Cora Brown, and Daniel Hickman.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents and her husband- Everett Nazelrod.

Services will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12-2pm, with the service to follow at 2pm, Craig Ward officiating.

Another service will be held at County Line Baptist Church in Luther Glenn, VA at a later date.
