Sulla Ann Lasser

Sulla Ann Lasser, 72, was born on Sept. 25, 1949, to Gideon Barnwell and Thelma (Conley) Barnwell in Delaware, OH. She passed away on June 18, 2022.

Sulla was a true Christian, a loving wife and mother who believed in the Lord. Best described as “a kind and gentle leader teaching children about Jesus,” per Rome Baptist Church in Lebanon, TN.

She is survived by her husband, William Lasser; son, Chief Master Sergeant Christopher Phillips and wife, Katie Phillips; daughter, Amber Edmonds and husband, Henry Edmonds; grandchildren, Adrian Alvarez, Ethan Phillips, Madison Phillips, Hudson Phillips, Ella Edmonds, Mathew Edmonds and Archer Edmonds; sisters, Wanda Daugherty, Cathy Barnwell, Doreen (Gunnels) Sherrill and husband, Anthony Sherrill.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gideon Barnwell and Thelma (Barnwell) Gunnels.

We think about you always, we talk about you still, you have never been forgotten, and never will. We hold you close within our hearts, and there you will remain, to walk and guide us through our lives, until we meet again.

Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 26, from 2-4 p.m. at Cumberland Cove POA (beside golf course), located at 16941 Highway 70 North, Monterey, TN 38574.

Theresa Dion Lewis

Theresa Dion Lewis, age 60, was born on August 29, 1961 to Charles and Ethel Frills Ward in Oliver Springs, TN and passed away on June 17, 2022 in Crossville, TN. She is survived by her mother, husband- Robert Lewis, children- Angelea Brown (Luke) and Robert Lewis, and grandson Bryson Burgess.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 20, 2022, at First Freewill Baptist Church in Crossville, TN from 11 to 1:00 with the service following. Bro. Mike McCoy will officiate and burial will be in Hales Chapel Cemetery.

Timothy Wayne DeBord

Timothy Wayne DeBord, age 59, was born on January 13, 1963 to James and Kay DeBord in Crossville, TN and passed away on June 16, 2022 in Crossville, TN. He is survived by his parents, wife- Mary DeBord, children- Tracy Lindsey (Rodney Brumit), Kelly DeBord, and Timothy James DeBord, seven grandchildren, sisters- Debbie Dannels and Kimberly Reed and brother- Tony DeBord (Kim).

There will be a graveside service for him in Barnwell Cemetery in Crab Orchard, TN on Monday, June 20, 2022, at 3:00 PM.

Judy Anne Cotter

April 21, 1946 — June 13, 2022

Reverend Dr. Judy Anne Cotter, 76, graduated from this life to her eternal home on June 13, 2022, with her daughters by her side in Crossville. She was born April 21, 1946 in Fordtown, Tennessee, to William Henry Gross and Margaret Britt.

Judy graduated from Happy Valley High School in Elizabethton, TN in 1964. After graduation, her employment experiences ranged from an Information Operator in Atlanta, GA; Waitressing; and Factory (Sewing / Oil pump mfg.) to Clerical work (secular and church). If you asked her, she would name her role as Mother and homemaker as her greatest achievement.

She met and married Roy Lee Cotter, Jr. in Los Angeles, California in July 1966. Together, they raised three daughters, Nancy Webb, Kristina Hobbs, and Angela Bunch. Roy preceded Judy in death shortly after their beautiful 55- year Wedding Anniversary in July of 2021. The life they built together was an example of God’s unconditional love and redemption on earth. They co-founded Harvesters Christian Fellowship, Inc. in Chelsea, OK in1994 and relocated to Crossville, TN in 1997. Judy earned her credentials as an ordained minister and received an honorary doctorate from HCF, Inc. They found their church family in Redemption Church of Crossville where she was a dedicated and active member until her “graduation.”

She is survived by her children, Nancy Webb, Kristina Hobbs (Jeffery), and Angela Bunch (John);10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and extended family members and a multitude of loving friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James Oscar Gross and Sarah Elizabeth Shaver Gross; parents, William Gross and Margaret Britt; husband, Roy Lee Cotter, Jr.; brother, George William Gross.

Daren Michael Williams

Our family is saddened to announce the passing of Daren Michael Williams, our beloved son, brother, and friend.  He passed away peacefully at his home in Crossville, TN on June 6, 2022, at the age of 60. He simply went into his bedroom to rest and left this world into the arms of Jesus.

Daren was born on April 3, 1962, in Pontiac, MI to Jim and Marlene Williams. He was preceded in death by his loving father, Jim, paternal grandparents James and Jeanne Williams, maternal grandparents Dewey and Marie Noe. He is survived by his mother, Marlene Williams Schupp (Roger), brothers Scott (Kristine) and Lindy (Teresa) and sister Angela (Russell) Qualls; niece Allie, nephews Zachary and Colton; aunts, cousins, and many close friends. Including Carlene, who helped care for Daren for many years.

Daren had many struggles throughout his life that were a result of having a brain tumor at 3 years old. It slowed him down but never stopped him from trying. He loved to ride his four-wheeler, go snowmobiling, boating, and swimming. He always had a smile on his face, never met a stranger and loved deeply. In 1982 he graduated from Brandon High School in Ortonville, MI. He moved, with his family, to Knoxville, TN in 1985. Daren loved God, he spent time reading the bible and memorizing scripture. He was always eager to recite John 3:16 whenever asked.

Gordon Eugene Misner

March 6, 1949 — June 7, 2022

Gordon Eugene Misner of Crossville, TN (originally from New Windsor/Newburgh, NY), entered into rest on Tuesday, June 7, 2022. He was 73.

Son of the late Richard and Virginia (Palmer) Misner, he was born March 6, 1949 in Napanoch, NY.

Gordon proudly volunteered with the New Windsor (NY) Fire Dept. for many years. He worked as a truck driver/warehouseman for the John Herbert Office Furniture Company for many years and in later years worked in the warehouse for the United States Chess Federation until he retired in 2004.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judith (Hansen) Misner. He was preceded in death by his brothers Robert Brink of New York and Richard (Dick) Misner of Virginia and sister-in-law Lori Hansen and Dick DuBois. Surviving family includes John Hansen, Jr., Joan DuBois, Joyce and Steve Hoffman, Joseph and Debra Hansen, sister-in-law Ethel Misner and Sandra Hawley. Gordon is also survived by many Aunts and Uncles, nieces and nephews, and many friends.

The cremation was handled by Crossville Memorial Funeral Home with no services. The family greatly appreciates the long term care giving from Carol Johanson and family, staff at Life Care and Cumberland Medical Center both located in Crossville, TN. All of the kindness and support from the staff at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home is greatly appreciated at this difficult time.

Charlotte Ann Lewis

Charlotte Lewis, 73, was born on May 31, 1949 to Otis and Jean Campbell in Crossville, TN. She passed away on June 7, 2022 at her home in Crossville, TN.

She is survived by her husband Pugh Lewis; children Jerry (Amber) McAnally, Terry (Honey) McAnally, Chuck (Amory) Lewis, Leslie (Brandon) Letner, and Jason (Lori) Lewis; grandchildren Brandon, Cody, Jaxon, Taylor, Tucker, Alexis, Stuart, Andy, Makenzie, Destiny, Tyler, and Jacey; great grandchildren Chloe, Jameson, Harper, Tegan, Bentley, and Garrett; and dogs Penny Jo and Petey.

She was preceded in death by her parents Otis Frank and Jean (McCowan) Campbell and siblings Kenny and Polly Campbell.

Charlotte was the matriarch of the family. She loved having all of her children together and holding family functions. She also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and bowling.

Services will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10am to 12pm with the service to follow at 12pm. Her remains will be buried in Green Acres Memory Gardens immediately following the service.

Danny E. Wilson, Sr.

Danny Wilson, 64, was born on May 5, 1958 to Eston and Ollie Wilson in Crossville, TN. He passed away at his home on June 2, 2022 in Crossville, TN.

He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a hunter and a fisherman. Danny was married to his wife, Teresa, for 45 years.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa A. Wilson; children Chrissey (Mica) Wanamaker, Danny E. Wilson, Jr., Nelson (Amber) Wilson; those he considered as children Chrystal Walker Perdue and James Simmons; grandchildren MJ Wanamaker, Emily Wanamaker, Ethan Wilson, Allie Smith, Trinton Wilson, and Autumn Mae Wilson; and siblings Mary (Ben) Tabor, Paul (Mary) Wilson, Ronnie (Kathy) Wilson, and Jerry (Paula) Wilson.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Posey and Amy Wilson; maternal grandparents Alfred and Eliza Lewis; parents Eston E. and Ollie (Lewis) Wilson; and siblings & spouses Elbert (Lois) Wilson, Eleanor (Ray) Wilson, Uldean (Dwyne) Stone, and Amy Lee (Owen) Bolin.

A Graveside service will be held on Monday, June 6, 2022 at Thomas Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be at 4:00pm with the service to follow at 5:00pm.

Matthew Ryan Smith

Matthew Smith, 34, was born on May 30, 1987 to Steven and Kathie Smith in Savannah Georgia. He passed away on May 29, 2022 in Crossville, TN.

He is survived by his wife Heather (Wright) Smith; parents Steve and Kathie Smith; sister Jennifer (Rob) Zanin; and paternal grandmother Jean Smith.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Fred Smith and Joyce Grantham; and maternal grandparents Jack and Gretchen Rehkemper.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at Lantana Road Baptist Church at 6:00pm.

Hulon “Wink” Paul Lewis

Hulon “Wink” Lewis, 90, was born on May 9, 1932 to Ulus and Hattie Lewis in Benedict, TN. He passed away on June 1, 2022 in Crossville, TN.

He is survived by his children Ricky (Lucille) Lewis, Gary (Kelly) Lewis, Karen Lewis; grandchildren Erica, Robert, Charlie, Jeremy, Jessica, Nikki, Justin, Kenny, and Zach; great grandchildren Tristan, Ashton, Robbie, Michael, Lilly, Jocelyn, Kinsley, Haley, Jordan, Aaron, Ian, Kadie, Evan, Riley, Jace, Angel, Joseph, Johnathon, Zoe, Hannah, and Kelsey; great great grandchildren Adalen, Kanaan, Seth, Taylynn, Anikin, Riley, Kelly, and Bryson; and siblings Elease Wynacht, Diane Burgess, Margaret Elick, and Cathy Lowe.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ulus Lincoln Lewis and Hattie Lee (Brewer) Lewis; wife Lena Tilda Lewis; several siblings; children Michael Lewis, Eugene Lewis, and Kenny Lewis; and great grandchild Shaylin Lewis.

The Funeral Service will be held at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, June 3, 2022. Visitation will be from 10am-12pm with the service to follow at 12pm. He will be buried in Leffle Webb Cemetery immediately following the service.
