Charlotte Myers

Charlotte Myers, age 74, was born on February 12, 1943 to Amon Woodrow and Willie Leigh Houston Hancock in Crossville, TN and passed away in Louisville, KY on November 17, 2017.

She is survived by daughter- Tamara Wilson (Lee), son- Shannon Myers (Melissa), four grandchildren- Shawn Wilson, Whitney Wilson, Tyler Myers, and Jacob Myers, and three great grandchildren- Shawn Robert, Skylar and Anias.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband- Robert Lyle Myers.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening, November 20, 2017, from 6 to 8 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at 11:00 with burial to follow in Linary Cemetery.

Dr. Fred J. Ingram

Dr. Fred J. Ingram, 96, of Crossville, was called home Tuesday, November 14, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Garvin and Viola Ingram; wife of 62 years, Lola Blankenship Ingram; brothers, Arvel Ingram, twin infant brothers, and James Ingram. He is survived by his sisters, Mary Morton of Townsend, TN and Carolyn Slack of Chillocothe, OH; brother, Bob Ingram of Madisonville, TN; children- Dewain Ingram of Bushnell, FL, Ron (Mary) Ingram of Germantown, TN, Sheri (Bob) Phillips of Crossville, TN, and Karla (Doug) Koontz of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Mathena Carbone of Ocala, FL, Lore Woods of Lobelville, TN, Veronica (Hank) Tansey of Memphis, TN, Jackie (Didier) Stahl of Mexico City, Chad Phillips of Dallas, TX, Tiffany Phillips of Crossville, TN, Tyler Koontz of Maryville, TN, and Braxton (Kehaulani) Koontz of Knoxville, TN; and 12 great grandchildren.

Dr. Ingram graduated from Madisonville High School, received his B.S. degree from Maryville College, Masters from the University of Tennessee, Doctorate from Oklahoma State University, and did his internship at Baylor University. He graduated aviation school and had his pilot’s license. He was the State Director of Technical Education for the state of Tennessee, Director of Human Services in Cumberland County, teacher and principal at Walnut Hill Elementary, a teacher at CCHS, as well as Superintendent of Cumberland County Schools. In 1941, he was a left handed pitcher for the Cleveland Indians AA team, the Cedar Rapids Raiders. He was also a Sunday school director, teacher, and deacon at the First Baptist Church of Crossville.

Family will receive friends on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 4:00 to 6:00 CST at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home in Crossville, TN with a funeral service at 6:00 with Rev. Gerald Atkins officiating. Graveside services for Dr. Ingram will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 11:00 EST in Sunset Cemetery in Madisonville, TN with Rev.  Thomas Sweet officiating.

James B. “Jim” Adkins

James B. “Jim” Adkins, age 77, was born June 1, 1940, the son of A.B. Adkins and Evelyn Pinion. He passed away on November 9, 2017. He was a lifelong resident of Crossville, Tennessee and was retired from Crossville Rubber Products.

He is survived by two daughters: Angela Welch and husband Ted and Amber Adkins McDonald and husband Terry; three grandsons: O.J. Rollins and Leslie, Dustin Rollins, and Emmett McDonald; and great grandchildren: Sawyer Rollins, Delaney Rollins, and Mallie Rollins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers: Ronald Adkins and Ronnie Adkins.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Cumberland County.

Joan Anderson

Funeral services will be held for Joan Anderson, age 87, of Eagle Bend, MN on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 11a.m. at the Karvonen Funeral Home of Wadena, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior. Joan passed peacefully on October 26 at her home in Eagle Bend. Graveside service will be held at Davis Cemetery (on the corner of Vandever Rd. and Ormes Rd., immediately on the left), Crossville, TN, on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at 11.

James R. Adams

James R. Adams, 71, was born on May 10, 1946 to the late Monroe and Ethel Adams in Crossville, TN. He passed away on October 25, 2017. James loved racing cars, hunting, and fishing.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters- Jonah Adams (Joan), Allene Wright, Clarence Adams (Paulette), and Rachel Temple (Danny); and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents- Monroe and Ethel Adams; sisters- Lucille Woody, Pauline Calahan, and Lucy Newberry; and brother- John Adams.

Family will receive friends on Friday, October 27, 2017 from 1 to 3 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service will also be held on Friday following visitation at 3 with Danny Smith officiating. James will be laid to rest in Fredonia Cemetery.

Carroll Eugene Lowe, Sr.

Carroll Eugene Lowe, Sr., 62, was born on November 16, 1954 in Sevierville, TN to the late Shirley E. Lowe and Bettie J. Lowe. He passed away on October 23, 2017. Carroll loved to work in the sawmill and farming.

He is survived by his wife- Ramona Lowe of Crossville, TN; children- Carroll Lowe, Jr. and Christina Jackson (Byron Jackson), all of Crossville, TN; grandchildren- Anthony Pippin, Jr., Brian Stanley, Shelton Welch, and Nathan Jackson; brothers- Steve Lowe (Mamie Lowe), David Lowe, Mike Lowe, and Jacky Lowe, all of Sevierville, TN; sister- Linda Williams (Donnie) of Sevierville, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father- Shirley E. Lowe; and mother- Bettie J. Lowe.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 12 to 2 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service will also be held on Thursday following visitation at 2 p.m. with Gary Hargis officiating. Carroll will be laid to rest in Akins Cemetery.

Bonnie Howerton

Bonnie Howerton, 91, was born on February 27, 1926 in Knoxville, TN to the late Charles and Mary Gideon. She passed away on October 22, 2017.

She is survived by her daughters- Debbie McCroskey (Rodney) and Sandy Wooten; grandchildren- Cory McCroskey, Ashley Ayala, Travis Wooten, and Shane Wooten; great grandchildren- Kayla, Paige, Payton, Madison, and Austin; brother- Jerry Gideon; and sisters- Ruby Ridnour and Pauline Dyer.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband- Lawrence Howerton; and 5 siblings.

A funeral service for Bonnie will be held on Wedesday, October 25, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. She will be laid to rest in Green Acres Memory Gardens.

Marian Jean Williams

Marian Jean Williams, (80), of Crossville, TN, passed away peacefully on October 5th, 2017 at home after a long battle with cancer and COPD.

Marian Jean Williams was born in Kingston, PA to Harry S Turner and Lillian (Hopple) Turner. She was proceeded in her death by her sisters, Debra Turner, Sandra Richards, and Doris Vosburg.  Marian was married to James S. Williams who passed away in Crossville in August, 2009.

Marian worked as a bank teller and then manager for many years in PA before staying home to raise her three children.   Marian loved reading, talking with her sisters, spending time with family, and bird watching.  She also had a great interest in politics.

Marian J. Williams is survived by her son Aaron J. Williams and wife Michelle Williams, her daughter Heather (Williams) Ferragut and husband Erik M. Ferragut, and her son Jason B. Williams and wife Elizabeth Williams; her grandchildren Tiffany Aric, Amber Williams, Jacob Ferragut, Nathan Ferragut, Lila Williams, and James Williams; and her long-time caregiver and friend Jami Jones.

Family and friends gathered to celebrate her life on Thursday October 12, 2017 at the Williams home in Crossville.

Patricia Ann Ursula Gentry

Patricia Ann Ursula Gentry, age 76, was born on March 15, 1941 to the late Donald and Mildred Dickson in New Haven, MI. She passed away on October 11, 2017. Patricia enjoyed playing cards with the girlfriends and lived for her 2 beloved grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter- Jody Looper and her son-in-law David; grandchildren- David Looper, Jr. and Dawson Looper; son- Darin Gentry; and siblings- Dickson Dickson and Cheryl Geirman.

She is preceded in death by her husband- Teddy Gentry; and sister- Charlene Lesh.

In keeping with Patricia’s request, there will be no funeral services.

Larry Pete Keagle

Larry Pete Keagle, age 42, was born on November 15, 1974 to David Keagle and Linda Williams Keagle in Crossville, TN. He passed away on October 7, 2017. Larry loved to go fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed dirt track racing and farming.
He is survived by his parents- David and Linda Williams Keagle; sister- Conitta Asher and husband Ray; nieces- Ashley Barnett and husband Randall and Emily Fossey; special uncles- Sam and Rick Williams; aunt- Shirley Bradford; and several cousins and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents- Lloyd and Edith Williams and Pete and Nora Keagle.
Services for Larry will be held at a later date. He will be laid to rest in Keagle Family Cemetery in Crossville, TN.
