Arlene Hamby

Arlene Hamby, age 60, was born January 7, 1958 to Lawrence and Amanda Saylor Edwards in Jenson, KY and passed away on March 25, 2018 in Harriman, TN. She was a Residential Assistant and taking care of people was her passion.

She is survived by her husband- Dudley Hamby; sister- Kathy Fisher (Gregory); brothers- Lynn Edwards (Debbie) and Jimmy Edwards (Sandra); nephews- Lynn Edwards Jr. , Jimmy Edwards Jr. (Crystal) and Gregory Fisher Jr. (Lyndse); nieces- Patricia Edwards, Barbara Edwards, Melissa Lowery (Curtis) and Sarah Blakley (Cory); many great nieces and nephews and her dog- Shu Shu.

She was preceded in death by her parents- Lawrence Edwards and Amanda Saylor Edwards and her sister- Barbara Edwards.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, from 5 to 7 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home with a funeral service following at 7:00. Junior Pugh will officiate. Burial will be in Butler County Memorial Park in Hamilton, OH.

Ray Dean Fuller

Ray Dean Fuller, 74, of Crossville, TN was born on January 7, 1944 to the late Delzie B. and Golda Adams Fuller in Isom, Kentucky. He passed away on March 20, 2018.

Mr. Fuller was a quality member of his family and his family of friends. His craftsmanship, love of animals, and his athleticism grew deep connections in his family and in his friendships. He served proudly as a Sergeant in The United States Air Force for six years. He enjoyed traveling and loved spending time with his dog, Buddy. He was a member of the Church of Christ in the Glade and was devoted Christian. All of those who knew him were proud to know him and of his love, accomplishments, service, and his faith.

He is survived by his wife, Paula Fuller; daughter, Robin Fuller; stepchildren, Steve Mathus (Arlene), Duane Kindred (Kristie), Shell Halvorson (Bruce), and Jennifer Robinson (Wade); 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sisters, Anna Lee Anderson and Phyllis Asher; several nieces and nephews and many cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and grandchild, Jacob Halvorson.

A memorial service for Ray will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Christ in the Glade.

Faye Turner

Faye Thompson Turner was born June 16, 1953 in Wilder, TN to Jimmy Thompson and Pauline Thompson and passed away at Wyndridge nursing home on March 15, 2018.

She is survived by sister, Linda Elmore and husband Dennis; brother, Bobby Joe Thompson; and aunt, Pauline Jones Hatfield and husband Emsley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel Turner, Jr.; mother and father, Jimmy and Pauline Thompson; and brothers, Michael, Dennis, and Carl Thompson.

Graveside services for Faye were held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 in Haley’s Grove Cemetery with Bro. Joey Smith officiating.

Crossville Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

James Francis Davis

James Francis Davis, 75, was born on December 23, 1942 to Frank and Marie Davis in Bay City, Michigan. He passed away on March 14, 2018.

He is survived by his wife- Brenda Davis; children- Jennifer Melzer (Michael), Amy Davis (Michael), and Lance Davis (Cyndi); grandchildren- Adrianna, Elijah, Davis, Roseanna, Selby, Myles, Mason, and Ily Harper; great grandchild- Jayden; and siblings- Lynn, Michael, and Nancy.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home 2653 North Main St. Crossville, TN. A celebration of life for James will also be held on Saturday following visitation at 6 p.m.

Thomas James Fern, Jr.

Thomas James Fern, Jr., 78, of Pleasant Hill, TN passed away March 12, 2018 at the Uplands Wellness Center in Pleasant Hill, TN. He passed away after a year-long battle with cancer.

He is survived by his wife, Marion, of 35 years; sons, Thomas Fern (Nora), Michael Fern (Pam); daughter, Debra Mealy (Brian); stepsons, Greg and Steven Kunis; stepdaughter, Jo Hannah Brunnelle; brothers, Judson, Robert, and John; sisters, Linda Rowe, Darlene Eychner; and 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Palmer; brother, Lawrence; sister, Donna Johnson; and half-sister Kathy Murdock.

Tom was born August 30, 1939 in Norwich, NY to Thomas James Fern, Sr. and Catherine Rundell and is the second oldest of 9 children.

In 1956, Tom enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served 26-1/2 years, as both Aircraft Electronics Technician and Aircraft Armament Systems Manager. During his military career, his history of outstanding performance and leadership led to his promotion to the highest enlisted grade of Chief Master Sergeant.

His numerous duty assignments around the world included, Bitburg Air Base and Hahn Air Base, West Germany; Korat Royal Thai Air Base, Thailand; Da Nang Air Base, Saigon, South Vietnam; Wheelus Air Base, Tripoli, Libya; and many bases in the U.S. including, Plattsburg AFB, NY: Nellis AFB, Las Vegas, NV; MacDill AFB, Tampa, FL; Langley AFB, Hampton, VA; and George AFB, Victorville, CA.

His military awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, Air Force Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Medal (with Palm), and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 1:30 to 3:00 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, 2653 N. Main St., Crossville, TN. A celebration of life for Tom will also be held on Sunday following visitation with Pastor Thomas Chandler of the Claysville United Methodist Church officiating.

Ara Belle Hall

Ara Belle Hall, age 90, was born February 8, 1928 in Crossville, TN to Ernest Wilbur and Clara Mae Kearley Brookhart and passed away at home with her loving family around her on March 10, 2018. She loved spending time with her family and playing with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed fishing, crocheting, and playing cards.

Ara Belle Hall is survived by her sons- Billy Hall (Opal), Harold Hall (Yvonna), John Hall (Lu), and Robert Hall (Pearl); daughter- Patricia Hall; 20 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and sisters- Midge Watson, Betty Maguire, and June Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband- John Henry Hall; and brother- Roy H. Brookhart.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, from 11 to 1 with the funeral service to follow. She will be laid to rest in Hyder Cemetery.

Juanita Jean Adams

Juanita Jean Adams, 75, was born on August 18, 1942 to the late Clarence and Ruth Aytes Lee in Harriman, TN. She passed away on March 7, 2018. Juanita loved to spend time with her grandchildren and play games with them. She also enjoyed traveling with her sister seeing new places.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis Adams; son, Eugene Adams (Tracy); grandchildren, Jacob, Braeden, and Kyle; brother, Ivan Lee; and sister, Marjorie Barnett.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Ruth Aytes Lee.

Family will receive friends on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 5 to 8 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service for Juanita will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 11 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in Slate Springs Cemetery.

Carlisle Nillo

Carlisle Nillo, 3, was born on May 12, 2014 in Cebu City, Philippines and passed away on March 6, 2018 in Crossville, TN. He is survived by his parents- Powell Douglas Simmons, Jr. and Janice Tirol Simmons; sisters- Jessica, Hannah, Gracie, and Chloe Simmons, and Kristin Winchester Davenport (James); grandmother- Olga Tirol; granddad- Rodrigo Natad; grandma- Debbie Simmons; uncle- James Michael Lachica; aunt- JoAnn Hoover (Gabe); several cousins and many loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather- Powell Douglas Simmons, Sr.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Crossville, TN. A funeral service for Carlisle will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Kerley officiating. Carlisle will be laid to rest in Akins Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dalton Davis, Grady and Brian Hoover, Bo Wyatt, Scott Winningham, and James Davenport.

James “Jimmy” Parsons

James “Jimmy” Parsons, 76, was born on July 25, 1941 to Homer and Mary Lou Robinson Parsons in Crossville, TN. He passed away on March 4, 2018. Jimmy loved going fishing and camping. He also enjoyed listening to gospel and bluegrass music. Jimmy liked to spend time sitting outside on the porch and watching birds.

He is survived by his wife: Lillie Fox Parsons; sons: Jeffrey Mark Parsons (Patricia Gale) and Ronnie Lee Parsons (Kay); daughters: Polly Ann Robinson (Doug) and Joy Ruth Wilson (Jim); grandchildren: Daniel, Casey, and Jamie; great grandchildren: Braelin, Lydia, and Chelsea; and sisters: Judy Phillips and Virginia Blaylock.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Homer and Mary Lou Robinson Parsons; grandson: Johnathan; brothers: JB, Ted, Tom, and Ralph Parsons; and sisters: Barbara Elmore and Betty Hedgecoth.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 from 11 to 1 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service for Jimmy will also be held on Wednesday following visitation. He will be laid to rest in Creston Cemetery.

Glendora Katherine Piercy Turner

Glendora Katherine Piercy Turner, 81, was born on May 6, 1936 in Harriman, TN. She passed away on February 28, 2018. She lived in Crossville, TN most of her life. She was married to the late Noah C. Turner, Jr. for 49 years. Glendora was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. She was an avid seamstress and loved to make dolls, and she could sew anything you wanted. She could make the best pot of chicken and dumplings you have ever tasted. Glendora loved to sing, and she always knew how to take care of people.

She is survived by her daughters- Mary Yates (Cecil) of Sparta, TN and Brenda Turner (Andy) of Crossville, TN; sons- Duane Turner (Kathy) of Goldthwaite, TX, Gary Turner (Bonnie) of Sparta, TN, and Ray Turner (Tammy) of Crossville, TN; 16 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sisters- Freda Justice (Earl) of Crossville, TN, Bonnie Ritzman (Mike) of Crossville, TN, and Patricia Rush (Mark) of Indianapolis, IN; and special caregiver and friend- Cecil Hawn.

She is preceded in death by her parents- Sam W. Piercy, Sr. and Beaunie Potter Piercy; daughter- Nancy Elizabeth Turner; sons- Noel Turner and Ricky Turner; brothers- Sam W. Piercy, Jr., Wade Piercy, and Jerry Piercy.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 11 to 1 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service for Glendora will also be held on Saturday following visitation with Pastor Jim Mersereau officiating. She will be laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery.
