Nancy Alice Pyles

Nancy Alice Pyles, age 82, was born on September 3, 1934 to William Frazier and Charlyne Keyes in Crossville, TN. She passed away on June 16, 2017. Nancy enjoyed spending her time going fishing and camping. She also loved to collect things.

She is survived by her son- Charles William Pyles; grandchildren- Lori Amanda Drescher, Mysti Dawn Hale, and Chanda Brooke Brady; and great grandchildren- Amber Alexis Triplett, Julia Leigh Smith, Joshua Allen Smith, Lana Reese Hale, Tavner Hale, Haze Neal Brady.

She is preceded in death by her parents- Charlyne Keyes and William Frazier; husband- Mack Pyles; sister- Betty Frazier; and grandparents- C.B. Wheeler and Bessie.

Darla Jean Wheeler

Darla Jean Wheeler, age 70, was born in Marshalltown, Iowa on September 19,1946 to Darrell and Agnes Quigley and passed away on June 16, 2017 inĀ  Crossville, TN. She worked for Holiday Hills and Cumberland Gardens/ Renegade and then later retired from DANA as a Boxing Printer. She was a loving mother, but her grandchildren were the apple of her eye. She enjoyed gardening and canning. She harvested grapes and made wine with her husband and friends.

She is survived by her parents- Darrell Quigley and Agnes Teslik Quigley; husband- Glenn McDonald; son- Troy Wheeler (Katie); daughters- Tracy Dean (Bryan) and Micki McDonald; grandchildren- Conner and Cooper Wheeler, Marley Dean, Samantha Byrd and Jonathan McDonald; brothers- Terry Quigley (Sue) and Wendell Quigley; sisters- Connie Blocker (Leroy) and Nancy Moyer (Jerry); and her dog Payton.

There will be a memorial dinner on Sunday, June 25, 2017 starting at 12:00 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home in the Family Center.

 

 

Jerry Mitchell Pennington

Jerry Mitchell Pennington, age 68, was born on September 21, 1948 to Mitchell and Bertha Blevins Pennington in Rockwood, Tennessee. He enjoyed witnessing to others and preaching the gospel. In his spare time, he also loved selling fruit and going fishing.

He is survived by his mother- Bertha Blevins Pennington; wife- Joyce Sullivan Pennington; sons- Johnny Pennington (Kristine Lee), Joel Pennington (Lakyn), and Jude Pennington (Nikki); daughters- Faith Woods (Lane) and Frankie Johnson (George); grandchildren: John Bryce Pennington, Audrey Pennington, Joshua Blaine Pennington, Colby Dalton Pennington, Tristan Lane Pennington, Leah McKinley Pennington, Hayden Pennington, Haley Lawson, Braelynn Anna-Marie Hart, Amani Woods, Jesse Johnson, Dan Lee Johnson, and George Lynn Johnson; several great grandchildren; brothers- Charles “Doc” Pennington and Curtis Pennington; and sisters- Betty Durisek, Connie Dyer, and Edna Freeman.

He is preceded in death by his father- Mitchell Pennington; brothers- Nolan Pennington and Jay Pennington; and sister- Crenn Phillips.

Family will receive friends on Monday, June 19, 2017 from 12:00 to 2:00 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service for Jerry will also be held on Monday beginning at 2:00 with David Wilkerson officiating. Jerry will be laid to rest in Tollett’s Chapel Cemetery.

Wilma Sue Hammons

Wilma Sue Hammons, age 82, was born on May 5, 1935 to the late Fred and Flonnie Wallace Campbell in Sparta, TN. She passed away on June 9, 2017. Wilma worked hard during her life, and she loved going to the flea markets.

She is survived by her daughter- Irene Selby (Keith); grandchildren- Lillie Hammons, Michael Hammons, and Tommy Selby; and great grandchildren- Cali, Grayson, and Brantlee.

She is preceded in death by her husband- Thomas Boyd Hammons; parents- Fred and Flonnie Wallace Campbell; daughter- Diana Hammons; great grandchild- Branson Hammons; brother- James Campbell; and sisters- Rendy Tabor, Imogene Norris, Lela Miller, and Margaret Barnes.

Family will receive friends on Monday, June 12, 2017 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service for Wilma will also be held on Monday following visitation with Harold Robinson officiating. She will be laid to rest in New Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Charles “Edd” Davidson

Charles “Edd” Davidson, age 83, was born on October 30, 1933 to the late Charlie and Ethel Hall Davidson. He passed away on June 8, 2017.

He is survived by his children- Jeanette Parsons, Patsy Sherrill, both of Crossville, Diane Davidson of Gallatin, TN, and Eddie Davidson of Mt. Juliet, TN; grandchildren- Travis Davidson, Seth Sherrill, Kristen Hubbard, Stephanie Zoosk, Justin Shook, Abbi Davidson, Anna Davidson, and Daniel Davidson; great grandchildren: Kaitlyn Grace Davidson, Eliza Mae Davidson, Kylie Hubbard, Jake Hubbbard, Raelynn Zoosk, and Olive Shook.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and wife- Opal.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, June 11, 2017 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service for Edd will also be held on Sunday following visitation. Edd will be laid to rest in Old Forest Hill Cemetery.

Carl Whitney Edwards

Carl Whitney Edwards, age 29, was born on September 28, 1987 to Carl Edwards and Elizabeth Ray Edwards in Dayton, TN. He passed away on June 5, 2017. Carl was an avid sportsman and loved going fishing.

He is survived by his wife- Andrea Edwards; children- Katelyn and Andy Edwards; parents- Elizabeth Ray Edwards and Carl Edwards; brothers- Alfred and Darrell Edwards; sisters- Eva Shelton, Sue Dawson, and Diane Zickefoose; nieces and nephews- Emily, Brianna, Ashley, Jessica, Carl Ed, Levi, Kyley, Brooklyn, Dillon, and Haley; and great nieces and nephews- Christopher, Bryson, Noah, and Paisley.

Graveside services for Carl will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 12:00 PM at Johnson’s Stand Cemetery in Grandview, TN with Buddy Ray officiating.

Theodore “Ted” R. Bazley

Theodore (Ted) R. Bazley, 91, of Fairfield Glade, TN, passed away Tuesday, May 30th, at home. Ted is survived by his loving wife Marilyn — he was her everything. Ted retired from the Kraft Food Company in 1987. He was a Mason and Shrine for over 50 years.

Ted and his wife lived to its fullest and enjoyed several experiences including winning a Cadillac at Super Bowl XXXIX.

A private service will be held at Fairfield Glade Methodist Church on Sunday, June 4, 2017. The family requests any donations to be made to Hospice of Cumberland County.

Carmen Rivera

Carmen Rivera, age 97, was born on July 11, 1919 in Puerto Rico and passed away on May 31, 2017.

She is survived by her husband- Miguel Rivera; son- Miguel Angel Rivera (Cheryl Rivera); daughter- Iris Feliciano; grandchildren- Norma, Maddy, Estrella, Stanley, Anivar, Raul, Norma, Mildred, Humberto, Junior, Sarry, and Carlos; 23 great grandchildren; and 13 great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents- Valeriano and Mariana; child- Luz Torrez; grandchildren- Madelyne, Eddie, and David; great grandchild- Adrian; and four siblings.

Family will receive friends on Monday, June 5, 2017 from 11:00 to 2:00 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service for Carmen will also be held on Monday following visitation at 2:00 with Pastor Claudio Franzo officiating. She will be laid to rest in Green Acres Memory Gardens.

Burton “Dinky” Maynard

Burton “Dinky” Maynard, age 75, was born on July 29, 1941 to the late Taylor and Rose (Boles) Maynard in Cumberland County, Tennessee. He passed away on May 30, 2017.

He is survived by son- Burton Maynard, Jr.; brothers- Paul Maynard, Samuel Maynard, Lawton Maynard, and Junior Maynard; and sisters- Louise Jenkins, Sue Madden, JoAnn Lewis, and Nancy Weaver.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife- Avie (Smith) Maynard; brothers- Raymond Maynard, Bill Maynard, and Robert Maynard; and sister Jenetta Russell.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, June 1, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services for Dinky will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 12:00 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home with Junior Pugh officiating. He will be laid to rest in Davis Cemetery.
