Genese Davis

Genese Davis, age 84, was born on September 17, 1932 to Frank and Lillie Blaylock in Cumberland County, Tennessee. She left this world August 7, 2017 peacefully in her sleep.

She is survived by her sons- Gregg Davis (Pam), Lynn Davis (Janice), and Stan Davis (Kathy); daughters- June Sherrill and Susie Dickenson (Clarence); 19 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brothers- Douglas Blaylock (Margaret) and Bill Blaylock; and sister- Kathy Vanmeter (Mitchell).

She is preceded in death by her parents- Frank and Lillie Blaylock; husband- Richard Davis; son- Garland Brown; daughter- Janetta James; grandson- Jason James; granddaughter- Lois Smallwood; three infant granddaughters; son-in-laws- Benjamin Norrod, Thomas Sherrill, and Newell James; daughter-in-law- Irene Davis; brother- Beryl S. Blaylock; and sister-in-law- Patricia Blaylock.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 9th from 5 to 8 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service for Genese will be held on Thursday, August 10th at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home at 1 p.m. with Kenny Alcorn officiating. Genese will be laid to rest in New Era Cemetery.

Glenn David Dilliplane

Glenn David Dilliplane, age 67, was born on April 8, 1950 in Trenton, New Jersey to Alton and Janet Dilliplane. He passed away on August 6, 2017. Glenn loved everything about Studabaker cars.

Glenn is survived by his wife- Jean Dilliplane of Crossville, TN; first cousin- Alan Dilliplane of Yardley, PA; many nieces and nephews; and brothers- Robert Dilliplane of Maryville, TN and Bruce Dilliplane of Souderton, PA.

He is preceded in death by his parents- Alton and Janet Dilliplane; and sister Janet Phillips.

Betty Louise Bush

Betty Louise Bush, age 86, was born on September 4, 1930 to Stuart and Helen Nisbett in Pontiac, Michigan. She passed away on August 4, 2017. Betty loved playing golf and enjoyed traveling to all 50 states. She was a member of the Cumberland County Master Gardeners, volunteered with Helping Hands Ministry, and ushered at the Cumberland County Playhouse. Betty was also an active member of her local church, Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years- Ray Bush; children- Diane Kratz (Ben), Lawrence “Larry” Bush (Alice), Kimberly Moses (Garry), and Kathleen “Kathi” Saffron (Scott); 20 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and brother- Donald Nisbett (Nan).

She is preceded in death by her parents- Stuart and Helen Nisbett.

A memorial service for Betty will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church.

Garland “Jean” Gibson

Garland “Jean” Gibson, age 78, was born March 16, 1939 in the Chestnut Ridge Community of Morgan County, Tennessee, the daughter of Gertie Adkins and Menford Branstetter. She passed away on July 31, 2017. She had lived in Texas, California, and Ohio before returning to Tennessee and had lived for the last 46 years in Monterey, Tennessee. She loved her family, gardening, and flowers.

She is survived by her sons, Thomas Joe Gibson, Jr. and Rita, Jimmy Doc Gibson, and Larry Gibson and Stacy, and daughters Euretha Roberts and husband Skip and Darla Reed and husband Kevin; grandchildren, Amber McDonald and husband Terry, Brittany Castle and husband Matt, Kevin Reed, Nikki Ray, Eli Gibson, Brandy Brown-Hargis and husband Derek, Haley Gibson, Ashlyn Gibson, Stacia Hall, and Jordan Teich and husband David; great grandchildren, Sam Teich, Emmett McDonald, Joseph Ray, Stetson Ray, Emma Ray, Deonna Hargis, Braxton Hargis, Kyla Hargis, Sophia Hargis, Toby Hargis, Ellie Reed, Evelyn Castle, and Abigail Castle; brothers and sisters, Vince Hall, Vincent Hall, Ross Branstetter, Jackie Branstetter, Connie Brimi, and Carolyn Williams.

She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas Gibson, Sr., mother, Gertie Adkins, father, Menford Branstetter, two brothers, Willard Branstetter and Carl Branstetter, and daughter-in-law, Irene Gibson.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home with services at 7:00 p.m. with Tony Phipps officiating. She will be laid to rest on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Whittaker Cemetery in Monterey, Tennessee.

Buck Irving Jensen

Buck Irving Jensen, age 70, was born on August 15, 1946 to Adolf and Mildred Jensen in Tampa, Florida. He passed away on July 28, 2017. Buck was a country singer in a band. He also enjoyed tinkering in the garage and drinking Natural Ice. Buck loved everything about NASA and astronomy.

He is survived by his wife- Helen Jensen; sons- John Jensen, Karl Gilmore, Glenn Jellison, and David Hyder; daughters- Ann Jensen, Lori Hornburg, Jen Martin, Susan Hagge, and Rhonda Pratt; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and sisters- Nancy, Carla, and Jennie.

He is preceded in death by his parents and first wife- Billie Jellison.

Tabitha Ann Bunch

Tabitha Ann Bunch, age 43, was born on July 16, 1974 to Roger and Sharrin Norris. She passed away on July 25, 2017.

Tabitha is survived by her parents- Roger and Sharrin Norris; husband- Glenn Bunch; daughters Megan LeAnn Bunch, Morgan Rachelle Bunch, and Jordan Elizabeth Bunch; stepchildren- Alicia and Chris Williams and Brandon and Tammy Bunch; one grandchild; brothers- Roger Joe Norris and Donald Dale Norris; and sister- Chrissy Michelle Norris.

Tabitha is preceded in death by her grandmother- Betty Jane Parsons; grandfather- Ernest Eugene Hedgecoth; grandmother- Anna Belle Norris; and grandfather- Willard Clay Norris, Sr.

Alice Lucille Sinclair

Alice Lucille Sinclair, age 81, was born on June 16, 1936 to Lester and Alice Ogle in Alton, Illinois. She passed away on July 24, 2017.

Helen Lisa Olds

Helen Lisa Olds, 83,  was born on March 27, 1934 to the late Richard and Mimi Hanke. She passed away July 6, 2017. She is survived by her husband, James. A memorial service will be held Aug. 12, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Community Church UCC.

Midge Eula Kilby

Midge (Edwards) Kilby, wife of Chester James Kilby (deceased), age 84, passed away on July 21, 2017 in her sleep. Visitation services are from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Monday, July 24, 2017 at Crossville First Freewill Baptist Church followed by the funeral service at 3:00 pm with Pastor Mike McCoy officiating.  Interment will be at Haley’s Grove Cemetery in Crossville, TN immediately following the service.

Midge was born on August 25, 1932 in Crab Orchard and raised near Cox Valley Road, the daughter of Arthur M.  Edwards and Avo (Pennycuff) Edwards.  Midge married on February 21, 1951, moved to Ohio in 1957 with her family, and returned to Crossville in 1978 where she remained.

She raised eight children and enjoyed watching her kids play softball and baseball when they were growing up. Her most favorite activities were attending church, being surrounded by her children and grandchildren, and attending family gatherings. She had an unwavering faith in God and an astounding love for her children. She loved the annual family reunions and all family get-togethers where she could cook, play games (especially rummy where she won most games), or watch her family play games. She was an excellent cook and well known for her amazing, home-cooked breakfasts. She loved organizing weekly lunches with her brothers, sisters, and extended family. She loved people and people loved her.

Midge is survived by her son Bill Kilby of Crossville, son Jim Kilby of North Ridgeville, Ohio, son Larry Kilby of Crossville, son Lonnie Kilby of Crossville, daughter Marie Tomlinson and husband Dan of Wakeman Ohio, daughter Vickie Cochran and husband Bruce of Crossville, and daughter Rhonda Clendenon and husband Doug of Jonesborough, TN.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Kelly Revette, JD Tomlinson, Travis Tomlinson, Jason Kilby, Jamie Carr, Eric Augustine, Jodi Unangst, Kimberly Thompson, Jeremy Kilby, Stacy Bond, Lorin Surles, Tyler Clendenon, Chad Clendenon, Kyle Clendenon, Jake Kilby, Shelby Kilby and many great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchildren. Her family loved her dearly.

In addition to her husband and parents, her son Donnie Kilby preceded Midge in death. She is also preceded in death by her brother Harold Edwards, brother Arthur Edwards Jr., brother Howard Edwards, sister Judy Martin, sister Geraldine Sutphin, and sister Linda Sue Edwards. She is survived by her brother Jay C. Edwards, brother Roger Dale Edwards, and sister Sarah Jo Garrett.

Jerry Lee Bow

Jerry Lee Bow, age 73, was born in Pikeville, TN on September 2, 1943 to Leo and Laura Bow. He passed away in July 19, 2017. Jerry attended Emmanuel Baptist Church and was a member  of the VVA Chapter 1015.

He is survived by his wife- Gail Findley-Bow; children- Pamela Dodson and Steve Cross; grandchildren- Thomas (Brittany) Neal and Lyndsay (Jason) Smith; great grandchild- Madilynn Neal; sister- Katie Sullivan; brothers- Jessie and Kenneth Bow; and  host of nieces, nephews, and grandchildren and great grandchildren of his heart who loved their “Pa” and were loved in return.

He is preceded in death by grandson- Zachary Rogers; parents- Leo and Laura Bow; brothers- Eston, Dodge, Dean, and Bud Bow; sister- Glenna; and mother- and father-in-law Mr and Mrs. W.E. (Bill) Petty.

A funeral service for Jerry will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home with Johnny Goldston officiating. Jerry will be laid to rest in Green Acres Memory Gardens.
