Kimberly Dean Whitney

Kimberly Dean Whitney, age 52, was born on January 3, 1964 to Warren and Jessie Dean in Lexington, Kentucky and passed away on August 12, 2016 in Nashville, TN. She was a graphic designer for several papers before coming here to work with our own paper, The Crossville Chronicle. She enjoyed working and playing on the computer and composed the football and pageants books. She loved to cook for others and enjoyed catering parties. She loved her family and going on cruises.

Kim is survived by her parents- Fred Warren Dean and Jessie Smith Dean; her husband- Victor Whitney; brother- Bryan Dean (Tracy) and their daughter, Marley; niece- Holly Dean; and numerous other loved ones, family members, and friends. She is preceded in death by her brother- Mark Dean.

Family will receive friends on Monday, August 15, 2016 from 12 to 2 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. A memorial service will also be held on Monday starting at 2 p.m. with Bro. Roland Smith officiating.

Doyle Eugene Crosley

Doyle Eugene Crosley, 86, was born on March 3, 1930 to the late James and Rosella Crosley in Daleville, IN. He passed away on August 10, 2016 in Cookeville, TN. Doyle worked for the Anderson Police Department for 20 years before he retired in 1975.  He was named Assistant Chief of Police in 1972. Doyle was a master marksman and was Top Gun on the Anderson Pistol Team. He was also an avid wood carver. Doyle owned Sonitrol Security and Crossville Answering Service in Crossville, TN. More than anything, Doyle enjoyed going to church.

He is survived by his children- Sam Crosley (Doug), Jeff Crosley (Dottie), Phyllis Evans (William), and Karen Walters; grandchildren- Leslie Clark (Greg), Amber Evans-Fulton (Stephen), Kirk Evans (Beth), and Kelly Nixon (Jesse); and 8 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife- JoAnn Crosley; brother- Jerry Lee Crosley; and sister- Rose Mary Parrish.

Family will be receiving friends on Saturday, August 13, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00 at Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ in Cookeville, TN. A funeral service for Doyle will also be held on Saturday beginning at 8:00. He will be laid to rest in Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson, IN on Monday, August 15, 2016.

Idell Mae Tabor

Idell Mae Tabor, 72, was born on May 13, 1944 to the late Beecher and Charlet Hawn Hall in Jamestown, TN. She passed away on August 11, 2016. For years, Idell worked in the cafeteria at Cumberland County High School. She enjoyed beautiful flowers and sitting down to read a good book. Idell also enjoyed watching movies on television. Idell loved spending time with all of her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband- Willard Tabor, Sr.; son- Willard Tabor, Jr.; daughters- Desiree Lynn Tabor and Denise Elene Barnes (Mark); grandchildren- Cole Barnes, Katelyn Tabor, Hailey Tabor, Lauren Tabor, Zoe Bennett, and new baby girl Tabor; and sisters- Vondell Miller and Dean Hyder.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers- Clem Hall, Howard Hall, Henry Hall, and Freeman Hall; sister- Eunice meadows; and grandchild- Ella Tabor.

Family will be receiving friends on Saturday, August 13, 2016 from 1:00 to 3:00 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service for Idell will also be held on Saturday beginning at 3:00 with Eddie Kilgore officiating. She will be laid to rest in Tollett’s Chapel Cemetery.

Terry Lynn Lawson Williams

Terry Lynn Lawson Williams, age 56, was born on March 9, 1960 in Crossville, TN to Osie and Georgia Lawson and passed away on August 6, 2016 in Knoxville, TN. She was a housewife, but also enjoyed taking care of the elderly. She went to gospel singings and her church was her life. She was called to preach 24 years ago and has been spreading the Gospel ever since. She has helped raise many children as she and her sister loved to babysit for the family.

She is survived by her husband- Ricky Williams; daughter- Brittany Williams; stepchildren-Melissa and Jason Williams; grandchildren- Bentley Williams, Whitney Waldo; step grandchildren- Matthew, Kayleigh, Kodi, Maddox, and Mason Williams, Clayton Jr. and Emily Waldo; sisters- Connie Wilson (Sherman), Lois Williams, and Connie Robbins; and Nephews- Christopher and Junior Lawson. She was preceded in death by her parents- Osie Lee Lawson and Georgia Lynn Rogers Lawson; brother- Gary Lawson; and sister- Joann Lawson.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 from 5 to 8 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral will be on Wednesday the 10th at 1:00 with Bro. Lester Sherrill and Pastor Dusty Watson officiating. Burial will be in Mayland Cemetery.

Wilma Jean Harris

Wilma Jean Harris, age 67, was born on October 27, 1948 to Thomas and Martha Ellen Powers Guy in Jellico, TN. She passed away on August 1, 2016. She was a loving grandmother who loved spending time with her grandchildren. Wilma enjoyed going to yard sales and shopping at thrift stores. She also enjoyed spending time browsing Facebook.

She is survived by her mother; daughters- Valerie Whitcomb (Jimmy), Angela Jimenez (Juan), Katrina DeRossett (Jeremy), and Kristie Mifflin (Wesley); grandchildren- Laura Pruitt (Carlos), Sean Johnson (Whitney), Juan and Eli Jimenez, Christopher Guy (Denna), Brittany Pugh, Lindsey Melton (Dustin), Josh, Ronnie, Kyra, Daiden, Asher, and Willow Mifflin; 7 great grandchildren; brothers- Junior Powers, Gary Guy, and Ricky Guy; and sisters- Leighanne Davis, Glenda Elmore, and Linda Guy.

She was preceded her father; and grandson- Jeremy Lynn Whitcomb.

A funeral service for Wilma will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Kerley officiating. She will be laid to rest in Crossville City Cemetery.

David Wayne Heiden

David Wayne Heiden, age 46, was born on May 25, 1970 to Peter and Barbara Place Heiden in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. He passed away on July 28, 2016. David was a landscaper working for the local company Landscape Solutions. He was a Volkswagen enthusiast, and he loved all aspects of gardening. David loved his family and worked hard to support his wife and children allowing them to be a closely knit family.

He is survived by his parents- Peter and Barbara Place Heiden; wife- Rebecca Robinson Heiden; children- Elizabeth, Dwight, Boyd, Rose, and Lily; brother- Steven; and sister- Diane.

Family will receive friends on Monday, August 1, 2016 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. A memorial service for David will also be held on Monday at 4 p.m. with Bro. Gary Robbins officiating.

Jay Hinch

Jay Hinch, age 98, was born on May 27, 1918 to the late Derris and Lavada Brown Hinch and passed away on July 19, 2016.

He is survived by his daughter- Sue Ann York; grandchildren- Jimmy Hinch, Steve Hinch, Todd Hinch, Avery York, and Paula York; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and his best friend- Maezelle Dixon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife- Nellie Hinch; son- Arthur Hinch; and brother- Roger Hinch.

A graveside service for Jay will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Big Lick Cemetery with Bro. Gary Howard officiating.

Doyle Wesley Pugh

Doyle Wesley Pugh, age 72, was born on September 29, 1943 to the late Hershall and Geneva Roberson Pugh in Crossville, TN. He passed away on July 14, 2016. Doyle always lived life to the fullest.

He is survived by his daughters- Linda Murphy (Gary) and Becky Henley (Ralph); grandchildren- Dustin Gary, Jesse, Lisa, Brandon, Matthew, Alicia, and Brittany; and sister- Sue Polston.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sons- Jimmy Lynn Pugh and Doyle Junior Pugh.

Family will receive friends on Monday, July 18, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service for Doyle will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 2 p.m. also at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in Mayland Cemetery.

Norma Jeane Thurman

Norma Jeane Thurman, age 86, was born on December 5, 1929 to the late John Henry and Eunice Ann Smith Easterly in South Bend, IN. She passed away on July 11, 2016. Norma was a member of the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief program. She greatly enjoyed gardening, camping, and cooking for others.

She is survived by her son- Robert Thurman of Knoxville, TN; daughters- Carolyn Churchill of Michigan and Donna McCarter (Ron) of Mississippi; 7 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband- Clyde Thurman; son- John Thurman; and grandson- Caleb Thurman.

Family will receive friends on Friday, July 15, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service for Norma will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Central Baptist Church. She will be laid to rest in Crossville City Cemetery.

Jude J. Thibault

Jude J. Thibault passed away on the morning of July 5, 2016, in Crossville, Tennessee.  Jude was born in Montreal, Canada, on February 11, 1937.  He was preceded in death by his late wife and mother of their 4 children, Juanita, by his brother Michael, and by his parents, Leo and Juliette Thibault.

Jude had a long and fruitful industrial career and was a successful business owner and entrepreneur. In 1989, Jude and his late wife, Juanita relocated to Crossville, Tn. and opened Plateau RV Service & Repair.

Jude believed in hard work, integrity, and lifelong learning.  He continued to hone his skills, knowledge and abilities long after his retirement.

Jude was most proud of becoming a United States Citizen on January 21, 1955.  He remained a faithful citizen and patriot throughout his life.  He was also a dedicated part of the Crossville First United Methodist Church family.

Jude leaves his fiance, Janice Reardon, his 4 children, Jacqueline, Andrea, John and Denise, 9 Grandchildren and 9 Great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Crossville First United Methodist Church at 2 PM on Friday, July 29, 2016.  The family will receive friends beginning at 1 PM.  There will be a graveside service held in Derby Line Vermont at a later date.
