Paul Davidson

Paul Leslie Davidson was born June 23, 1960 in Crossville,TN to Mr. B.J. Davidson and Betty Miller and passed away on December 24, 2016. Paul was a member of Meadow Creek Baptist Church.

He is survived by his Parents: B.J. Davidson and Betty Miller, Son: Bubby Davidson, Brothers: Gary Davidson (Dale), Jerry Ingram, Scotty Ingram, Sisters: Linda Sherrill (Willard), Sheila (Dan), His favorite Aunt Ellie and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his sister Debra Sherrill.

Elaine Rhea

Ms. Elaine Elizabeth (Landry) Rhea, daughter of the late Irene (Vachon) Landry and Eugene Landry, was born on February 14, 1940 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Elaine age 76, went to be with her Lord and Savior in the early hours of December 21, 2016. After moving to California at age 15 she went on to be a Social Worker for the Department of Social Services for San Diego County for most of her life; however, her yearning to contribute to society did not end there. Whether it was volunteering for the American Legion, The VFW, Helping newborn babies by knitting blankets for Project Lioness, or hats for child cancer patients, she proved that there truly was no limit to how much love you could give. She involved herself in the Red Hat Society and enjoyed playing cards and line dancing at the Crossville Senior Center. She will never be
forgotten and will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
She is predeceased by her son David A. Rhea, and survived by sons, Carl D. Rhea and Larry D. Rhea. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren, Tony Winfield, Anthony Rhea, Tamara Glidewelll, Angela Moller, Danielle Rhea, Matthew Rhea, and Alex Rhea. She also had 7 great grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held on January 3, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Alphonsus Catholic Church.

Polly Manning

Polly Manning was born on January 1, 1929 to Grover and Annie Miller McKelvey in Philadelphia, TN and passed away December 26, 2016 at Cumberland House in Crossville, TN. She was the owner of Edgewood Restaurant for 30 years of which she dearly loved. She previously owned Polly’s Coffee Shop across from the old Ford place.

Polly is survived by son- Gordon Lee Miller (Liz); daughters- Brenda Gail Nelson ( Butch), and Pat Tanner (Rex); grandchildren- Christopher Lee Miller, Michael Allen Miller, Jerry Netherton, Christy Sherrill, Ricky Allen Nelson, and Tammy Michelle Freitag. She had 12 great grandchildren as well as many great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 41 years- Blaine Manning; parents- Grover McKelvey and Annie McKelvey; son- Roy Thomas Miller; grandchild- Connie Lynn Asbury, 2 great grandchildren; brother- William McKelvey; and sister- Maggie Rucker.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 on Thursday, December 29, 2016, with a service to follow. Burial will be in Linary Cemetery with Bro. Mike McCoy officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Hospice of Cumberland County.

Karen Gay Reeves-Stewart

Karen Gay Reeves-Stewart was born on June 28, 1956, in Detroit, MI, and departed this life on Monday, Dec. 19, 2016, in Crossville. Her strength and endurance never left her as she fought her battle against cancer. Her love lives on in all of us, forever. Gay never met a stranger and she enjoyed helping everyone she met.
Gay worked in the real estate industry and later became a general building contractor alongside her husband, Bob. They built many homes and condos in Knoxville and later in Crossville where they made their home at The Catoosa Canyon Ranch. She just retired as executive director of the Cumberland County Homebuilders Association.
Gay is survived by her husband, Robert V. (Bob) Stewart; parents, Odas Reeves (Faye) and Earlene Wright (Delmar); daughter, Becky Crisp Hunter (Carlton); son, Jason; grandson, Hunter Crisp, who was the sparkle in her life!; god child, Katie Simpson; brothers, Greg Reeves, Brandon Reeves (Lisa) and Mike Copeland (Tiffany); sister, Sharon Long (Bill); stepbrothers, Salvador and Mike Wright; stepsisters, Pearl Smith and Tammy Faulkner; nieces, Melanie Mills (Raymond), April Campbell (Scott) and Faith and Aly Copeland; nephews, Jacob, Lucas, Bennett, Eric Reeves and Braxton Copeland; grandnephews, Blake Walters, Ethan and Aiden Reeves; and grandnieces, Rain and Sayde Campbell. Sue Ann Pugh

Sue Ann Pugh was born on August 24, 1956 in Landstuhl, Germany to Mr. JW Treadway and Mrs. Helen Treadway and passed away on December 21, 2016. Sue loved to play with with her grandchildren and dogs, Sue also loved to play bingo and sewing.

She is survived by Son- Chad Pugh (Jacque); Grandchildren- Addison Pugh, Reed Pugh, and Jon Hamby; Brother- Brince Treadway, Bo Treadway; Sisters- Diana Selby, Mary Jungman.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; JW Treadway, and Helen Treadway.

Allen Faber Engle

Allen Faber Engle, age 84, was born on June 11,1932 in Watertown, NY to Ray Sylvester Engle and Elnora Beatrice Kinney Engle and passed away on December 7, 2016 in Crossville, TN. He loved his job as a Purchasing Agent for Colgate University.

He is survived by his wife- Olive Engle; son- William Engle (Kerry); daughters- Kathy Barry (Stephen) and Margaret Engle (Ralph Lee); grandchildren- Stephanie, Allen, Mark (Megan), and Erik; great grandchildren- Jackson and Conner; and sister- Sandra Dorsey. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, sister- June Engle, and grand daughter- Joscelyn Berry.

Jimmy Lee Savage

Jimmy Lee Savage, age 61, was born April 26, 1955 to the late Lonnie Savage and Ida Brown Savage in Jamestown, TN and passed away in his home in Crossville, TN on December 8, 2016.

He is survived by several family members and a host of friends at his Hilltoppers Home. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 12, 2016 from 10 to 11 with service to follow at 11. He will be buried in Allardt Cemetery with Bro. Ray Buck officiating.

Sydney Blanch Sisco-Howard

Sydney Blanch Sisco, 61, was born April 30, 1955, in Crossville to the late William and Dorothy Phillips and passed away on Nov. 27, 2016.
Sydney loved to work in the yard, sew and watch the “Have and Have Nots.”
She is survived by her sons, Jason Howard (Brittany) and Aaron Howard; daughter, Laura Yerian; grandchildren, Lexus, Mason, Haleigh and Julianne; and brothers James Phillips and Paul Phillips.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Calvin Phillips and Lee Phillips and her sister, Lola Wilbanks.
Services will be held at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home with a visitation Thursday, Dec. 1, from 5 to 8 p.m. and the funeral Friday, Dec. 2, at 11 a.m. following with a committal service at Turner Cemetery.
Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.

Emmie Lou Smith

Emmie Lou Smith was born February 16, 1942 in Chicago, IL to Hans and Margaret Tillmanns and passed away in her home with her family beside her on November 25, 2016. She was a teacher and children were her passion. In her latter years, she home schooled her grand daughter and loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and was involved in her church. She will be greatly missed.

Emmie is survived by her husband- Russell Smith; sons- Jeffrey and Ronald Smith; daughters- Debra McNeil (Bob), Lisa Islamovic (Emir), Jennifer Smith, and significant other Mike Brazulis; grandchild- Rain Smith; and brother- John Tillmanns. She was preceded in death by her parents- Hans Tillmanns and Margaret Volk Tillmanns.

Mary Jane Meeuwsen

mary-jane-meeuwsenMary Jane Meeuwsen, age 70, was born on December 26, 1945 in Port Washington, WI to Leroy  and Juliette Scherer and passed away on November 12, 2016 in Crossville, TN. She received her masters degree from University of New Haven, and became a corporate tax accountant. Mary Jane loved reading and was a member of a local book club. She enjoyed traveling, playing Mahjong, and crafting. She volunteered with the Fairfield Glade Ladies Club and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.

She is survived by her mom- Juliette Elizabeth Driscoll Scherer; husband- James W. Meeuwsen; daughters- Amy Stewart (John), Rebecca Hobbs, Linda Luhn (Rod), and Jill Mickelson (Nate); son- David Meeuwsen; grandchildren- Julia, Luke, John Michael, Katie, Anna, Matthew, Eric, Taylor, Cassidy, Grace, Tyler, and Mitchell; brother- Robert Scherer; sisters- Nola Scherer- Luft, and Rose Steffen; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Leroy Henry Scherer; grand daughter- Amanda; and her brother William Scherer.
